I just watched Dancer in the Dark again. There isn't any other movie that hits me as hard as that.

Well that's because Lars von Trier is the fucking man. That's what he does and he doesn't give a FUCK what anyone thinks. I love that. Anyway the overture for Dancer is one of the most beautiful things ever. Stolen by kanye west of course but hey can you blame him?

Quote from: Wikipedia
On March 17, 2011, Björk confirmed details about her next project Biophilia. The new project will combine new tracks with specialized live performances which will kick off in Manchester, United Kingdom at the Manchester International Festival on June 30. She will perform at the event for six nights. It is expected that the special project Biophilia will see her tour to major cities. Details about the album and further tour dates have yet to be confirmed.
....
The album is "partly recorded" on an iPad and will be released in the form of a series of apps. Biophilia will be the world's "first app album" in collaboration with Apple. Björk has described the project, directed by Michel Gondry, as a multimedia collection "encompassing music, apps, internet, installations and live shows". Material from the album will debut during a concert series to be held this summer at the Manchester International Festival.

A bit slow, but this sounds cool. :caffeine:

Being released in an app? That's fucking stupid.

I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

So yeah, I've been listening to a good deal of Bjork recently. She's really awesome  :)

I listened to Debut for the first time last night. Good stuff, and a little more "accessible" than her later albums, I guess. I think my favorite so far is Vespertine. It can be a challenge to like, but a total reward once you get there.

Awesome!  The dvd for Vesperitine is really an awesome accommodation, too.

Yeah, the sound is gorgeous. It's like some icy pop fairytale. Or something.

I have only listened to Medúlla and Volta, which I didn't really like. Been meaning to check her other works for years. I'll try to get some of her albums soon.

Oh yes, that DVD is gorgeous!

The performance of Pagan Poetry is absolutely heartbreaking.

The only album of hers that I haven't listened to yet is Volta. How is that one? It seems to get pretty mixed responses from fans, based on the sources I've visited.

Personally I really love Volta.
It's different, contains some really interesting songs, but overall it's Björk.

I don't know what it means coming from me, but I think it's fantastic. It's very earth-y if that makes sense.

I take fans' opinions more seriously than casual critics :) I think I'll spin it later today and probably post my initial thoughts. I like everything I've heard from her, even the quirky and bizarre Medulla.

Based on that short interview I think I'm going to like the sound of the album.

As great as that soundtrack is, I can't really listen to it if I'm not also watching the movie.

How is it I haven't seen this music video 'till just now?  :rollin

Her dancing with the cat at the end is just begging to be turned into a GIF.

Bumping to say that "Crystalline" is rather brilliant.
If the rest of the new album is as good as this, I'll be excited to say the least.  :hefdaddy

As for my thoughts, it's a really interesting song, certainly one of her more experimental kinds. I thought the heavier electronics near the end worked really well.

I've started to listening to some of her stuff lately. It started when I was going through some Kevin Moore stuff and came across the song 'Shallow'. Looking up the lyrics, there was a note mentioning that the 'female vocal sample' was from a certain Bjork song. I checked out that song, and liked it.
I've basically been listening to her first two albums. There's some good stuff in there.
