Well stuff like BTBAM took me a loooong time to get into, and I like Meshuggah only in small doses...Yes Opeth are my favourite band, but they don't sound anywhere near as heavy as these guys to me.
But Kotow is right .
On May 27, 2008, SikTh announced that the band had decided to split due to numerous factors. The main reasons cited for their break up was the inability to find replacements for ex-vocalists Mikee and Justin, as well as commitment to other projects

Take a listen to this. It showcases their heavy and technical sides, but also the middle section demonstrates perfectly how they bring it down. For the record I don't think this is their best song, but it's the first song I heard by them, and it's a good starting point.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz5oa98LDq4
Hey! New fan reporting in! Listening to Bland Street Bloom right now!
Appreciate the epic brutal amazingness that is Bland Street Bloom here. And all of SikTh for that matter.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAyqaLpJTQg
Yeah, once you graduate high school, you need to listen to Death Metal like an adult.
That is awesome. Mikee needs more music out there, he has such a great voice. Was on the way home from work today and 'Suffice' came on, needless to say I maxed the volume and irritated all the nearby commuters. Oh god I wish SikTh were still around. Aliases (Pins new band) are OK but nothing amazing, IMO.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZdxYBGvW50
I recently acquired Trees on disc. I own both the full-lengths now. I'd love to acquire the EPs as well, although the 1st 2 appear to be available for a pretty spendy number.
I miss SikTh.
This was just posted by Olly from Monuments/Cyclamen on facebook: ""Dan Wellerive never been asked by so many people to reform sikth. it was the only question I heard all week at download. we are gonna do it at some point. without a doubt... who knows when though."
The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.
