All ProgRock Records releases $5 on Friday
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:34:58 AM »
Black Friday Sales This Week
We will be having a huge Black Friday sale on November 26, single CD's will be $5, doubles and DVD's will be $10. We have some even bigger specials hidden in there with some $3 and $4 items, so make sure to look around. There are a small number of items that won't be discounted as we aren't free to do that. Our bulk discounts also will not apply during this time.

A summary page of our artists can be found at https://www.progrockrecords.com/artist_index/ but take note, this page will play music when you land on it, you can disable the music by leaving the www off the url or hitting the stop button on the player when you get there.

Also check out our sister label for specials at the same time www.therecordlabel.net.

There is limited stock on some items, so it is first come, first served, if something sells out and we haven't had a chance to block it yet, we will let you know and refund your money. Sometimes shipping calculations or selections can be off, if there is an overage, we will refund it, but sometimes there is an underage and we'll need to get the difference. Please note that if this is anywhere near as big as it was last year, it might take several weeks for us to finish shipping everything, if you need to make sure you get the items by a certain date because they are a gift or something, please let us know. Keep in mind it is a holiday weekend in the US, so shipping won't start till the 29th.

And finally, to accommodate our friends around the world, we'll start updating prices on Thursday and revert back on Saturday.

I coulda sworn I saw the Mullmuzzler records at that shop before.

Anyone have any thoughts about the 2nd Kevin Anderson Rock Opera disc? I heard the first one, and thought it was decent enough despite some issues, but I'm not sure I'd go for the 2nd being the lack of LaBrie. And not sure I'm willing to make the time investment to read the books.

The prices already dropped.  I'm picking up:

Amaran's Plight (signed copy), I'll give my old copy to a friend for X-mas
Odin's Court
Prymary - Both albums (For those who don't know, I know at least the drummer is also in Redemption, and I know the bass player from somewhere as well...)
Dec Burke - you would know him as the guitarist and backing vocalist from Frost*
Vonassi - Never heard of them before, but the description and one song I heard on their site sounds promising.

And things I've already got from them that I highly recommend:

Chain
Henning Pauly
Frameshift
Mystery
Roswell Six
Paralell or 90 Degrees
Presto Ballet
It Bites (not on sale though)

Probably some other stuff as well.  I expect you failtards to disregard Nick's post since he kinda works for them, but this is the REAL DEAL and they actually have some good stuff there.  I'm going to pick up one artist I never heard of just because the price is right.  Something you should consider doing if you decide to order something from there.

Roswell Six is decent.  First one is better, but I haven't read the books and it doesn't hinder my ability to enjoy the music.

I ordered the autographed Frameshift album.  Been meaning to check them out for a while, and what a way to finally do it.  The price was right, too.

Hmm...Some of these bands look interesting but I'm unfamiliar with most of them.  Is there anything essential here?
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Frameshift's Unweaving the Rainbow is required listening, as is Henning Pauly's Babysteps.  I really dig Mystery as well.  You would probably really like Roswell Six and the other Henning Pauly/Frameshift/Chain albums (all the same guy) Wolfking.

Frameshift is awesome. At least the one with James, anyway.

I'll be getting...

Sylvan - Artificial Paradise
Sylvan - Posthumous Silence Live DVD

I was at the DVD gig - got tears in my ears several times. If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you.
Great DVD with a comparable low budget. The "Posthumous Silence" part was simply stunning (the lead guitarist is no longer in the band, btw), as they got a cellist, background singers and some nice projections. The DVD also features a nice commentary track, but only in German...

Tell me how you like it.

Oh, and I ordered 4 releases from that sale:

t - Anti-Matter Poetry
Seven Steps To The Green Door - Step in 2 My World
arK - Wild Untamed Imaginings
Dead Heroes Club - A Time of Shadow

Keep prog alive - see it live!

Yeah, I own the Frameshift ones, they are excellent.  I might check out the rest of those then.  Might also look at Bittencourts project. (guitarist from Angra)
