Ok, try to ignore the fact that Yngwie is a shred head who took the soulfulness and lo key-ness of Joe Perry's guitar work and turned it into 10,000 notes per minute shred. What you need to listen to is the vocals. Oh my God!

Dio was great on it. Yngwie wasn't as bad as I was expecting, given the posts. Maybe I was just expecting a trainwreck.  :lol

I was like "Ok, the clean part sounds rushed...but ok" then the intro solo came in and I was like "WTF IS GOING ON HERE?!?!"

But then Dio came in and all was well again.

Yeah I liked Yngwie on this one too. His style is quite unlike other "shredders" I know of. When I think of shred, I think of neo-classical. THAT'S what's more impressive to me. To be able to play classical music on guitar in a shredding style.

The problem with the intro solo is that it was REALLY out of place and did not fit the mood at all.

Even though I've already seen the thread when I saw the thread just now I thought this was about you listening to PT's Lightbulb Sun.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

No. But that was not bad. Needs another listen though.

Dio makes this version of the song  :metal

I don't get what Yngwie is doing.
In high school my buddies and I built a Van Der Graaf generator.  You know, to get girls.

Yngwie is doing exactly what people are expecting him to do. He shreds hard and makes songs better as a result. People who say he is an emotionless player are just...silly.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
LOOK AT THIS AWESOME SHIT AHHHHHH
