Don't bother with Coheed, imo. It's not even decent.

We can debate the quality of it. It's just not worth paying for.

Well, it has sold very many copies, it's relatively highly reviewed, and I would say the majority of DTF that has heard the album likes it. At what point do you stop and consider, "maybe it's just me"?

Well, I guess I should say that while I only have one Coheed album (IV) I don't really like it. And I didn't enjoy them when I saw them live, even though I really really wanted to.

But I'm always willing to give artists another chance. If not, they wouldn't have even made the list.

Black Country Communion....this is a must own album for anyone who like Hard Rock

I can also second the new Accept

New Accept is amazing, what a great album.

I have also just received Black Country Communion, but I haven't had time to give it a spin yet.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

You're also seconding the Black Country Communion.  Just sayin   :)

So far, got Alcest. Votes for it were low, but I saw it for $2, so I could not resist.

I think 2007 remains unbeatable. 2009 was amazing too. This one is very good but I see it as a sort of "calm before the storm" year personally.

This year was good, but not as good as last year. This year had a lot of new releases from bands I'm interested in, but nothing I really needed to get as soon as it came out.

Awesome/good releases this year that i've heard:

The River Empires
Agalloch
Oceansize
Anathema
The Pineapple Thief
Pendulum
65daysofstatic
Karnivool
Periphery
Pure Reason Revolution
Avenged Sevenfold
Linkin Park
God Is An Astronaut
The Inception-soundtrack
Midlake
Massive Attack
Gorillaz
Band of Horses
Fang Island

And i still have a few to check out, such as Alcest. :P

Overall i don't think 2009 comes close to this year, but 2011 might be really awesome, considering we'll most likely have new albums from: Thrice, Radiohead, Eisley, Ulver, dredg, Blackfield, the SW & MÅ collaboration, new SW-solo album, and apart from those there's always bands you discover, and albums you had forgot about. ;)

I didn't listen to Dream Theater too much this year either, but I'm still pretty excited whenever they release anything new obviously.

Yes, i feel the same.
It just easy to forget a certain album because you haven't listened to the artist much the last couple of months.  :P

Karnivool came out May 2009  :D
