Cause they're big in England. I'm not sure either.

Ah, I'd heard they don't even crack the charts in England anymore. Regardless, most prog bands making music now seem to have relatively small audiences in a relatively large amount of countries. To me, Marillion seem like a band that might have a bigger audience on their home turf, but not nearly as much international appeal as a Transatlantic.
Well, no they don't really, but neither do TA. But Marillion have been around for a long time and have a pretty big, dedicated fanbase.

He should get his cover band buddies Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan, and Gary Cherone and make a new band.

You know how mike gets together with people and makes tribute bands (led zep, the who, etc?) well guess who its with. lol
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
