The Beatles: Now on iTunes

Not sure what went down, but apparently the 'Apple' copyright BS has been lifted.

Obviously not.  Their on Itunes, which means they're automatically terrible like all the others.

They were an old side project by the famous drummer Ringo Starr.

Yep.  I am guessing that most have their stuff already, and most who wanted the remasters already got them last year when they came out, so kudos to iTunes on showing up one year late to the party. :lol :lol :lol

I love how their website said something like "Tomorrow's just another day you will remember forever" or something. Do they just like seeing what they can get away with at apple?

Not sure why this is viewed so negatively, one of the world's largest bands finally releasing their music on arguably the most common means of digital music distribution. Many people aren't interesting in alternative methods of acquiring music whenever they have a source they know they can trust.

The reason it's viewed the way it is is because of the way that Apple promoted it.  When they go around saying stuff like "Tomorrow's just another day you will remember for ever." it leads people on to think that they are going to release a new product or something that is more innovative than just a band's(even though The Beatles are huge) music becoming available for purchase.  But other than the over hyping it's good news to those who wish to buy it.

Where did they lie?

The reason it's viewed the way it is is because of the way that Apple promoted it.

No, the reason it's viewed this way is because it's Apple and people are petty as all fuck.

No, I'm pretty sure its the way their promotion is presented.

Nah. Considering that the first two replies to the thread were just mindless Apple bashing, and especially since all they're saying is "you're going to remember this!" and we've got replies going "THEY LIED. I DIDN'T REMEMBER THIS AT ALL. DAMN APPLE AND THEIR MANIPULATIVE ADVERTISING." shows pretty clear that people are getting all up in arms over this just because it's Apple.

Nope, just calling it as it is.

Although the "herp, taking the internet too derptydoo" argument is a nice touch here, considering your whole point is that people are supposedly getting upset over an online advertisement Apple was running for a new band they were goign to add to their online music store.

No, you don't get it. You're trying to make sense of the internet, of all things. Just stop, because you're on a futile trip that you'll never succeed.

Guys, listen: Apple made a big deal out of something that wasn't a big deal, and many people who follow everything Apple does (read: not necessarily fans) were disappointed and/or made a big deal about it. And now, you guys are making a big deal out of the people making a big deal about it.

But isn't that like getting upset at the Old Spice commercials because they don't make you smell like Neil Patrick Harris?

He absolutely does, but that's my point. Expecting any deodorant or shower gels to make you smell like him is hilariously stupid.

Wait, I thought The Beatles were a huge deal? Now I'm all confused.

The Beatles are a big deal. Their music being released  to an online store years after the fact everyone has all of their albums and/or has downloaded them from elsewhere is not. Regardless, it's certainly not "A Day You Will Remember Forever," but I'm used to that bullshit from apple.
