Take-A-Lime (don't ask, just read)
« on: November 29, 2010, 11:53:47 AM »
Okay, it's 2:30 AM and I have woken up from a rather nice sleep. I'm part awake, part asleep, and part drunk from the pain meds I took before I went to sleep (long story short, my finger is swollen and hurting like hell) so I'm what some may call in a Zombie state.
I turn on my iPod and start listening to Take the Time at my desk.
Then I just remember grabbing a pen and paper, writing down the "lyrics" and waking up to find a sheet of paper next to me. I read it and find it's a PARODY of Take the time  ???  :omg:
So considering I was a Zombie, it's pretty funny. Here is the parody, which I titled 'Take-A-Lime' and clearly about being drunk, but for all I know, it could be about dogs.

Just let me catch my breath
I've heard my promises, I've seen my mistakes
I take my fair shair of tough breaks
I need a new brand, new love, new way
Take no time, do not hesitate
Progress in puddles, go back to square one
I think it’s time for a chaaaaaaange

There is something that I feel
To be something that ain’t real
I feel the heat within my mind
Intoxicated I am blind.
I have no feeling, wondering, no promises
A place where new tastes are fashioned
I won’t waste another brea’!
You can feel the waves coming on
IT’S TIME TO TAKE-A-LIME!
Let it destroy you and your mind is gone
IT’S TIME TO TAKE-A-LIME!
Fighting away the whole world
Nothing is helping this time
I close my eyes, I can find all I need in my wine.

All-drunked spirit obscured and disquiet
More drinks this trial demands
At the end of the day sighs an anxious relief
For more beer lies still in his hands
If there’s tequila here, I’m wasted all year
A man must learn to withstand
Yes my obsession’s real
The gum that I have must now turn to dope
Life is no more ensuring than wine
IT’S TIME TO TAKE-A-LIME
There are no answers when you’re out of line
IT’S TIME TO TAKE-A-LIME
Fighting away the whole world
Nothing will save me this time
I close my eyes, I can find all I need in wine.
I close my eyes
Feel the fatigue rise inside me
Drown myself in wine
Let my senses numb away
I can’t see much clearer thanks to my wine
‘Sono ubracio, ubracio come una puzzola’
You can feel the waves coming on
IT’S TIME TO TAKE-A-LIME
Let it destroy you and carry you on
IT’S TIME TO TAKE-A-LIME
Fighting away my whole world
Nothing can stop me this time
I close my eyes, I can find all I need in my wine.
*solo*

The funniest part is the fact that I did not stop there. I just kept writing it over and over and over so I was lying next to about 10 pieces of paper. If this is what I am doing half-awake, I really need to be careful!

That's a pretty funny story as I have also experienced incidents where I wrote strange things unintentionally. It wasn't nearly as bad as this, but one time during my senior year of high school I had to write an assignment during one of my classes. I was feeling extremely sick and my brain was not functioning properly. I was shaking as I wrote it, I felt like a child first learning how to write because I was having trouble shaping letters and spelling words. I would sound out the word to myself a million times and still couldn't spell it correctly. It wasn't till after I got home, threw up everywhere, then reread it a few days later when my teacher handed it back that I realized nothing I wrote made sense. My grammar was all messed up and it wasn't even on topic. Sentences had no structure and were just random thoughts scattered. My teacher must've thought I was on something. Anyway, that's my random story that has some connection to this topic, take it or leave it. And I know.... It's a cool story. :)

Maybe if you listen to Pull Me Under the next time you're in this state, you can be the first one to hear the ending of the song.
