They actually did all of Master for that tour?

edit: Yes they did. Wow. That seemed pretty cool.

Excuse me for not knowing about a band's tour before I knew a bunch of their songs. At that point, I was like :metal NO LEAF CLOVER

Anyway, of all the albums I would like to see in its entirety, it would be AJFA, but they won't do that, so next comes Master. But overall, a set of balanced material would be best. I really want to see Harvie, Justice, Bleeding Me, Roam, Sanitarium, Fade, and Hero before I die.

But seriously, back on their Escape from the Studio '06 tour they played all of MoP because of the 20th anniversary of the album, they also debuted The New Song and The Other New Song on this shows.

I'm glad James hates Escape, because that song is absolutely... bad.

Super epic ultimate set that they would do once  a week for that special tour:

For Whom The Bell Tolls
Harvester of Sorrow
Fuel
Stone Cold Crazy
Cyanide
St Anger
One
The Four Horsemen
Ride the Lightning
Welcome Home Sanitarium
Sad But True
Bleeding Me

--break---

Creeping Death
Blackened
King Nothing
Turn the Page
The Memory Remains
The Unforgiven
The Outlaw Torn
Hero of the Day
Battery
All Nightmare Long
Fade to Black
Wherever I May Roam
Nothing Else Matters

---encore---

Enter Sandman
And Justice for All
Seek and Destroy
Master of Puppets

That would be epic! Metallica would also die on the spot!

Also, SaD would be last, as it has been for the past 7 years.

I know but I don't like the song as a closer. The only reason I have MoP closing is because if Metallica had to play one set that was about them, I would think closing with MoP would be the ultimate song. That is "their" song. On a different, I put SaD on for the first time in close to 7-8 months and it is kicking my ass. :metal

Hm. If I were to make a 30th anniversary setlist for the band...

1-12: The Black Album in it's entirety (featuring Jason on MFOM)
==intermission===
13. The Four Horsemen
14. For Whom The Bell Tolls
15. Orion
16. ...And Justice For All
17. Ain't My Bitch
18. Fixxxer
19. Frantic
20. All Nightmare Long
==encore===
21. One
22. Master Of Puppets
23. Seek & Destroy

Now, I don't think the Black Album is their best, but I mean, come on. It's still a good album, and obviously it did something right. There's some damn good music on there, any way you slice it.

Good set there, I like how you pulled an Opeth with the whole 'going in order' thing.  :tup

Why would they play one of their worst albums in its entirety?

Because it's not. It's actually one of their better albums.

To me it would like this:

The good ones:
1. And Justice For All
2. Master of Puppets
3. Ride the Lightning

The ok:
4. Kill Em All
5. Load

The pile of garbage:
6. Black Album
7. Death Magnetic
8. ReLoad
9. St.Anger

Here's mine:

The great ones:

Kill 'Em All
Ride The Lightning
Master Of Puppets
...And Justice For All
The Black Album
Load
ReLoad
Death Magnetic

The trainwreck pile-of-garbage:

St. Anger

This is what i would wish for... (note that some "classics" aren't in it, because if they played a set only with classics it wouldn't be different)

First set - And Justice For All (in it's entirety)
1. Blackened
2. And Justice For All
3. Eye of the Beholder
4. One
5. The Shortest Straw
6. Harvester of Sorrow
7. The Frayed Ends of Sanity
8. To Live is to Die
9. Dyers Eve
--short break--
10. Hit the Lights
11. Creeping Death
12. Sanitarium
13. Sad But True
14. The House That Jack Built
15. Devils Dance
16. No Leaf Clover
17. Some Kind of Monster
18. That Was Just Your Life
--encore--
19. Master of Puppets

Considering how long the World Magnetic tour has been, I suspect that when it eventually ends they'll spend a few years doing nothing but squandering their gazillions of dollars.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

Excellent set. I do wish that they performed all of Justice back in 2008 (20th anniversary of that album), but what can you do. The House Jack Built is actually one of my favorite Load songs.... It'd be very cool if they ever played it live (or hell, any non-single from Load/Reload).

Well they're always writing. At least James and Lars are. They always jam as well, that's how they come up with their material - and that's how we got Death Magnetic where people accuse that album of being "a bunch of riffs stuck together" which is just bullshit - if you remember the old videos of them jamming before a show, they record every jam of theirs and that's how they had many hours of "riff tapes" to be filed down to what came as Death Magnetic.

Yeah it really is bullshit.....they have a few riffs per song and they arrange them to FORM songs. Not riff soup or anything, there usually is a recurring hook.
