How many Lars Ulrich's does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

None, he's too busy hitting his snare drum.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

He's pretty good, like, RTL - MOP - AJFA.  Tech as.  But, downhill from there I'd say.

Just boating in a septic spread.

When he was gonna play with the symphony he had to have a metronome ticking in his ears so he wouldn't go off tempo.

Well, keeping time for a 100+ piece orchestra is totally different than keeping time for 1 + 1/2 guitarists and a bass player.  The tempos written on the orchestral score need to match what the drummer's playing otherwise it'd confuse the hell out of them, I'd imagine.

Most metal drummers who play in those situations play with a click track.

6 degrees would have been a lot better, had it been to a click.

Pre-Metallica he was awesome. I don't hate him like most people do, but I certainly agree that he lost 90% of his creativity after ...And Justice For All.

Well after Justice they completely changed their style though.  I don't hate Lars' playing either.  He's pretty good for what he does.  I don't know if you can listen to For Whom the Bell tolls and not love what the drums are doing in that song.
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?

Motherfucker should have stayed in tennis.

I've occasionally wondered, what if he had done just that? Would he have become a successful tennis player? I doubt it.

He woulda become successful, like he is on the drums. But he wouldn't have been a good tennis player - he woulda lucked his way to grand slam titles cuz of walkovers/injuries in opponents, just like he's not exactly the best drummer in the world.

Well, I've always thought he was pretty good in the RTL-AJFA run, and not just on studio but live. If you watch the Seattle '89 concert he's right in the pocket with the beats and playing everything as recorded, but once the tour for the Black Album ended he just didn't care about his playing enough. He has said himself he rarely even practiced anymore, and it clearly shows as he can't play ANY song as he recorded and by any I do mean any, he doesn't even play NEM as he recorded it!!

He was "ok" on RTL and MOP. And pretty damn good on AJFA. And live he was great from MOP-TBA. However, after that he just stopped.

He was good on S&M though, but still.

Damn, he's hell of a drummer of course! I was already wondering why he didn't have a thread of his own!

In all seriousness though, this thread better not reach second page.
