Antigoon @ i will definitely check out more Eisley-stuff.
Next update inc, another 2 vocalists that should be fairly known here.
8.
Gavin Hayes (dredg)
"
From the inside out
We were formed
From the inside out
We will fall
Soon this all will come to an end...
Soon this all will come to an end..."
dredg is one of those bands that aren't insanely over-talked about around here (like Opeth or PT), but the people that has heard about them normally has very positive feelings towards them.
The music is a mix between progressive, melodic and art-rock, though they take influences from here and there like many other bands.
Gavin's voice is kinda what adds that last bit of magic to it all.
Again it's one of those cases where the singing fits the song perfectly, and Gavin has never really been about showing off or trying to put the singing in focus (DG i'm looking at you
), instead he makes the singing fit in beautifully with the rest.
A special mention to the song "Sang Real" (my favorite dredg-song), it's just perfectly arranged when it comes to the music and lyrics, but Gavin's performance in that song sends shivers down my spine, and it's the reason why that song is my most played on lastfm, it's one of my favorite songs ever.
Songs:
Sang Real,
Lightswitch,
Cartoon Showroom and
Triangle.

7.
Thom Yorke (Radiohead, solo)
"
This is my way of saying goodbye
Because I can't do it fact to face
So I'm talking to you before
No matter what happens now
I won't be afraid
Because I know
Today has been the most perfect day I have ever seen"
Ever since i first heard In Rainbows i've been a Radiohead-fan, even though at first i had some problems getting into OK Computer and The Bends.
Thom Yorke has a very special voice that you either love or hate, and i've seen a lot of people say that they can't get into RH because of the vocals and such, i get that.
But i love the vocals, and i even wanted to include Thom in my top5, but when you start making a list like this, you realize that the competition is huge.
The main reason why i love Thom's voice, is that it's very down to earth and emotional, but it can also be fit for more uptempo/slightly heavier songs.
Even though i love his performances in songs like "Jigsaw Falling Into Place", "Paranoid Android" and "2+2=5", i prefer it when he just sits down at a piano, playing and singing out all his emotions, like in "Videotape" or "Pyramid Song".
Those 2 examples are just heartbreaking when i'm feeling sad.
Songs:
Videotape,
Pyramid Song,
Jigsaw Falling Into Place and
2+2=5.
