Best source to get news?

What do you think is the best source of news?

Personally, I feel that the print media is probably the most objective source out there.

I like reading as much of the international papers, a lot of the ME papers and a few of the domestic papers, as I can ( online )

that way I can piece it together, and I feel I have a pretty good view of a story..and you can get a tone of whats going on and whats news to certain countries

I like blogs that link to the original article, so I can read it in context, and see if I agree or not

but I voted for "internet"

Blogs.

Only some of them, though. If they're claiming something crazy like a birth certificate existing then that's just internet nonsense. Got to be objective, after all.

edit: Barto's right. No single source is good enough.

Blogs actually are pretty useful.  While you've got to be able to decipher the various spins, there are often times when there are angles that don't automatically jump out at you.  Even people who are stunningly FoS will occasionally throw out an insightful point of view.  Often times when figuring out how they're spinning something or trying to be deceitful,   you'll see something from a different angle.  Challenging your own preconceptions, after all, is how you really learn things.

I stay tuned into CNN's website.  It's not great by any means.  I actually hate the way they choose what stories to run.

For example, I think they ran about 3 stories today depicting Marijuana in a negative light.  This is right after prop 19 gets voted down.  But before it got voted down, and it was looking like it had a good chance, they were reporting all stories showing it in a positive light.

They were doing the same things when the whole "Islamaphobia" BS was going down.  Remember that term, "Islamaphobia".  Yeah that lasted about a month before everyone forgot about it and went back to their sane lives.
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?

BBC is pretty good, I would agree. I also read German news about international events because they aren't hyped up.

I guess I should have clarified and asked what is the SINGLE best source. As in, which source is less likely to have tons of spin/bias, more accuracy, etc

I'd say that a combination of many sources is the best way to go.

Fox News.

I can't enjoy watching Fox News. It just makes me horribly enraged.  :-\

The best thing to do is to create a google news feed for yourself. Mine contains feeds from my favorite political commentary sources, a series of California newspapers (including two local papers), and one source for science news. I also developed a habit of signing up for emailed press releases. I originally did it for work and just continued for personal use. Just about ever organization, publication issues them. That's a pretty healthy combination, I think.

All three of them have their weaknesses.

TV - the worst bias...I don't think I need to explain why
Newspaper - very good, but you can only read about something the day after it happens.  It's very slow.
Internet - great resource, but easily abused.  You have to make sure you find a consistent source you can trust.

If you have a phone that can support it, I think the best way to get news is to download an application that constantly gives you the top news stories...I believe the major news sources will support it.  I would recommend LA Times and Wall Street Journal.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges
