Daron Malakian (Ex System of a Down, Scars on Broadway)
Daron is one of those musicians who receives opinions from two sides of the spectrum.
Love him <--------------> Hate him
I'm sure you are aware of which side I'm on. I know, I know, "But he ruined SoaD when he intruded on Serj and began doing a lot of the vocals". See, I disagree. Like I said about Hasse, I feel Daron's presence as well adds more dimension and contrast to the bands music. On Mezmerize and Hypnotize, the stories being told are of a much more personal nature, and Daron's chiming in really helped tell those stories, I would say. Overall, I just love Daron's musical style. Another thing that I love about the man is his stage presence. On a live bootleg I have, during Sugar you can hear Daron yelling to the crowd "How many people can we get on this stage? I wanna see how many peopel we can get on this stage for Suuuggggggaaaaa" and then about 20 seconds or so into the song he commands "DON'T LET THE AUTHORITIES STOP YOU" and I lol a bit every time. The man is also an interesting musician, and wrote some very interesting music. It's a shame Scars on Broadway was so terrible.
Favourite songs - Stealing Society, Needles, Radio/Video
(You guys, I forgot to clarify something. In each update, my "Favourite songs" section is referring to my favourite songs where this musician is most prominent, so to speak.)
