Leaks happen all the time. People in the inside want things to get out without really being allowed to put them out there. Is it really much harder to believe that than it is to believe someone registered at the forum just to troll us and fuck up our day?

According to Mangini he was clearing snow in Boston in late January, and before that he was working on other things.  Maybe he just got to the studio with DT fairly recently???

No updates since Jan 24.  Unless his posts about what he working on were BS, Mangini just may be there in the studio now.

JLB's last tweet does not even remotely point to to Mike Mangini.

BTW, I am one of the three people who liked The Phantom Menace  :P

If Mangini is confirmed before we reach 100 I'll post racy pictures of myself in the "member" photos thread.

I often believe in the ockham's razor, but not this time. And Mangini is a too simple option.

Well, that leak guy is aiming at being close to the band. Which makes it more credible, and less credible.

When a longtime member would state he is close to the band and knows who the new drummer is, we won't believe it. Cause we would've known him/her being close to the band.

The problem is, we can't know for sure.

Anybody else with me in thinking that it won't be so simple as, "Hey everyone, ... is our new drummer."

I don't know what it's going to be because it sounded like they really wanted one guy rather than a group (although I gotta say, if they had seven songs with seven different guys that would be very interesting and possibly badass) and even if they use Watson the computer they still have to have somebody to play it live (technically they don't, but I really can't see them performing without a live drummer.) Wouldn't be shocked if there was an "out of respect to MP"-vibe to it somehow, which would be a great thing.

I don't know what it is, but it won't be "Bob is our guy." So, I guess I'm a NDTDA (new DT drummer agnostic).

I'm going to say we'll reach 121 pages before we know the new drummer. Why 121?

11 x 11 = 121

Since ya know, they're making their 11th album in 2011...

But of course James would say it will have been worth the wait, no matter who the drummer is. Anyway, I think he was just trying to calm everyone down about it.

At first I thought there was no way that DT was in studio without a drummer, but now I think it could be possible. I could see DT writing either way. If they scheduled studio time, even without a drummer they could still be writing and making the most of their studio time.

How much time have they spent in the studio on average during the latest albums? 3-4 months?

If that is the case, I do not believe he should have worded it like that. This points to something different than a drummer that most people thought would be the one (or least a finalist).

Yep I'm starting to think its Mangini.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Im curious too about all the edrum stuff too Mangini is up to.

Maybe the new DT stuff will have some sampled and triggered drum sounds.  Maybe fart noises and breaking glass?
