the changing votes is so annoying. minnemann back down. stick to your votes people
What's the use if you voted for someone who has certainly been ruled out?
I voted for Zeleny initially, but he has been permanently ruled out, that's when I changed it to Lang.
everything is wrong with it. The thread is place your bets. So you are wrong. Big deal. I picked minnemann the day this thread was made. And I'm not gonna change it even though he has been kinda ruled out.
OK, but I don't see it like that
Do you understand the concept of a bet?
Yes, but had the topic starter really wanted for everyone to bet, he wouldn't have made changing the choices possible now would he?
The topic starter eh, who's he when he's at home?
I genuinely don't care whether anyone changes their vote or no. I haven't changed it from the long-since-jossed Charlie Zeleny, 'cause that's how I'm choosing to play it.
If someone has chosen to change their vote, that's fine too. I was interested in how the results would change and mutate as the poll continued, and whether we could collectively predict the drummer with any real reliability.
Given the three-way-tieish-thing, I think the answer to the latter's a "no." But the results can change and mutate in whatever way the voter feels comfortable. Half the point is that it's up to you.
When it comes to it, it's a silly little game on a poxy wee message board full of the only people nerdy enough to check every day. I honestly do not mind how people choose to play it - it's not up to me to dictate how people want to distribute their tiny, meaningless slivers of data.
I actually quite like that it's split as to whether people are shifting vote or not... means that the candidates who were once probably but have since been written off still have a wee sliver of votes, but that as time progresses the choices do become stacked in an approximate order of probability.
Half the board are chasing the rumour-mill across the poll like it's a ball with a bell inside and switching their votes every five minutes. The other half are staunchly refusing to listen to reason and sticking with implausible options who've been written off months ago. We're
all idiots, really.
Just... do as you please! Nobody's cheating. There aren't any rules, it's technically impossible to cheat. I would only really close the poll if some concrete, unquakable evidence came up. Until then... go nuts. Change your vote - everyone else is. Don't change your vote - I'm not. Who really cares? Enjoy life. Go outside. Read a book. Arrange some flowers. Sing a song. Cook an oyster. Beat up a pensioner for loose change.
Anything - just don't waste your time worrying about how some stranger who's halfway across the planet has chosen to vote on a poll. Rubbish thing to spend five minutes of your life doing.
