I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

when a band like that hires a session drummer like marco, do they want him to go all out?! who will they ever find to replicate his parts in the future?!!

Is "a band like that" referring to Dream Theater or to that other random prog band? Because, as we have discussed ad nauseum, Dream Theater's new drummer will not be a session drummer/hired gun.

ya, i was referring to the other random band. i s'pose that's not what the thread is for, but...

it just got me thinking.

....and then i got sidetracked reading indisciple's thread and throwing on images & words  :metal

He has always had the website like that. Even the previous version was weird, well not weird, but more like structured "different" than other websites.

maybe the revamp has to do with the DT gig if he got it.I'm pretty sure a lot of people will visit his website to learn about him. Maybe he is trying to do it ASAP and more presentable if he got the DT gig (adding vids, pics, setups, endorsements, discography, etc...).

It has no bearing whatsoever. I'm sure he'd have plenty of time to do all that stuff in several months that will inevitably pass between him recording the album and the album being released. Remember, DT went in the studio for Black Clouds in October 2008 and that record didn't come out until July 2009. How long were the band actually writing and recording? I highly doubt longer than a month or so.

Did anyone actually work out what happened on page 49 and where that large 'quote' came from and what the 'hidden message' was?

I got it, look at the first letter of every sentence then put them together.
Damn you bosk!  >:(
The band describing John Myung:
JLB: "He's deep. He's deep in thought"
JP: "We have a deep understanding musically"
JR: "John Myung is a very deep kind of person"
MP: "John Myung is an enigma... N he's deep as fuck yo'"

I'm thinking it may be Lang, he might of gotten the broken foot and the rest of DT will start writing, he'll join when he is ready.

Didn't finish the mastering and such maybe, but I'm sure the majority of the band's work was done well before march.
