Currently: I have just shipped of my drum tracks for 6 songs for guitarist Isao Fujita (who I did a short tour of Japan with in 2010.) They're my best playing to date Can't wait for them to be heard. My new 'leg' is coming alone so well but slowly. I have posted some new videos on youtube. One is a solo from October 2010, the last recorded one for me. You can see/hear a huge difference in my groove; it is because my upper leg muscles are now working as they should've all along. Anyway, I will be now revamping the studio before my next sessions start in about two weeks. I have to spend time working with and learning the new Pearl E-Pro Electronic kit & brain. Lots of videos and website ideas are on cue...

Just watched some Mangini videos. He's good, I wouldn't mind him being in Dream Theater. But I dunno, I'll be happy with whoever they pick. This Aquiles character? Why not, the guys liked him, I'm fine with that.

Nah, my mistake. I wanted to say that if the guys liked him, I'd be fine with that. I find it strange that some people would be disappointed by the new drummer because it's not the one the fans were hoping for. So what? The important thing is what Dream Theater thinks.

Well, this is certainly interesting.  Posted earlier today:

A new day is about to dawn for progressive metal kings, Dream Theater.  Questions have abounded recently about who will replace Mike Portnoy on drums.  Under normal circumstances, hiring a replacement drummer would not create such a buzz.
In Dream Theater’s case, however, nothing is ever conventional.  Let’s not forget that this is the band that breathed new life into progressive music.  Even stalwarts like Yes and Rush seemed to be losing steam in the 1990’s.  Suffice it to say, without Dream Theater’s influence, the genre would be on life support.

Perhaps, then, it should come as no surprise that little in Dream Theater world is “typical.”  Reports are that Portnoy initially recommended the band go on indefinite hiatus.  Instead, the band gave Portnoy an unexpected ultimatum:  Either enter the studio in January 2011 as planned, or relinquish the drum throne.  Stepping down as Dream Theater’s drummer was not something Portnoy had previously contemplated.  This was a band he founded and had been with for the past twenty-five years.  Essentially, the band did not want to lose any momentum by delaying their next album.  Reluctantly, Portnoy decided to step aside.

Initial fan reaction to the announcement was mixed; some were angry, and some excited.  Speculation about who will replace Portnoy’s is the new topic of the day.

Not one to stand idle, Portnoy has booked two projects with Neal Morse for 2011.  On top of that, he also finished a tour with Avenged Sevenfold as interim drummer after the passing of Jimmy "Rev" Sullivan.  To date, Portnoy has not revealed any long-term plans.

Twitter, fan Internet forums, and sites like Blabbermouth have fueled fan speculation.  However, the band has not yet made its final announcement about Portnoy’s successor.  Ending the rumors evidently took a backseat to working out other issues.

None of the band members have leaked the information--Except to say that auditions have been held, and the decision has been made.
When the announcement would come, fans could only guess...until now.

Dream Theater recently informed sources that the announcement is imminent.  Ready or not, fans will know the identity of the man on the throne before long.  Under the circumstances, the announcement will come none too soon for most.  Many, many names of potential candidates have been tossed around the rumor mill:  Minnemann, Mangini, Lang, Donati, and even Lars Ulrich have been rumored by fans.
Everyone will no doubt be scouring the Internet for the news over the next few days.  Read who the new drummer is right here--very, VERY soon.

It's a bit cryptic, but if you read carefully, I think I know what the guy is hinting at.
