I shall be checking early tomorrow. I believe tomorrow is the day. Now all we have to figure out is the timezone. Im amazed they kept it quiet for so long.

Even if they announce it 6:00 tomorrow, I'll wait til I get up at 9, presuming I can't get out of bed.

I have not seen that before.  Man I'd be up for seeing some Piano blues on the next DT album.  The way Marco was able to jump in like that makes me even more optimistic.

Hell, I'd be waaaay up for just a blues effort from Jordan. My God, that was fantastic.

Maybe they could screw with us even more and release the album with still no word and the band shot on the cover has a blacked out sillhouette of the drummer.

Oh that would be friggin hilarious....not!

...since DT's the type of band that grace their covers with pics of themselves

In addition to the drummer silhouette, he can only be credited as 'Mr. L' on the sleeve.

Why 'Mr. L', I hear you ask? I have exclusive footage of band negotiations here:

That said, I plan on ignoring DTF for the entirety of my time home since I get to spend so very little there. So I'll see you guys all in about 10 days. Maybe they'll be something new to talk about then!

Well my internet home used to be the mp forum, but I got banned there years ago. Strangely enough, I still go there for some reason as if it was my home page, even though I know I can't post and nobody knows I exist anymore despite all the cool threads we had, and even though I don't even like MP that much anymore. But this place seems ok. What I hate is that I had a really stupid avatar picture of me when I was like 16, that I can't change now and it's forever immortalized into the forum history.

I hope it's not Rod Morganstein, because I'm already missing out on Mangini lessons. Mangini has def. stopped for the upcoming semester, and does not respond to DT related questions. This, coupled with my friend who talks to Marco telling me that it is Mangini, makes me 90% positive it is him.

I'm inclined to take the "my friend who supposedly talks to Marco told me..." bit with a shaker of salt.  Hopefully when you say Mangini has stopped for the semester it means he's taking up some other part-time gig, because a new DT drummer would quit the job altogether, not just for a semester.

I believe Marco is doing session work for my friend's band. I don't fully believe it either, but it's all the inside scoop I have. IDK if Mangini is quitting beyond next semester, as the schedule only has next semester dates listed.

Does he do summer courses? I don't think professors know their schedules for the next school year, but the summer is usually the end of the school year for colleges.

Haha three of the finest drummers in the world right there, and everything they played was pretty much harder than the entire discography combined. I don't see how people could watch that and even try to contest that metal is more difficult.

I couldn't watch more than five minutes of that before I started feeling the urge to murder myself due to a realization that I am worthless as a drummer.

The styles seem very similar to me besides the way they hold the stick and the heaviness of the sound lol. It doesnt look harder or easier to me. It looks damn hard on both sides.

I'm a guitarist though so that's just a blind eye.

I feel like whenever people say stuff like that on the DTF, it usually ends up being...

True.

I'm probably just being selective with my memory, but for whatever reason, I 100% believe these people as long as they don't sound like morons and their stories make sense.

If it ain't Mangini at this point, I'll be shocked.

Same here! I think if all DT wants to do is replace Mike Portnoy for solid playing and stage presence, then Mike Mangini would be there guy.  If they want to replace him with the JR of the Drum world, then I beleive Marco is their guy.

Originally I was leaning towards Mike Mangini but that has now shifted towards Minneman.

If Marco gets the gig, I would expect the next DT album would be a return to form.
