I wouldn't be surprised if ainamatore is just full of hot air. Yes he claimed to be JP's brother in law, but JP probably wouldn't tell things of such secretive nature to someone immature enough to go blabbing them online. So even if he is JP's brother-in-law, JP would probably be as thankful about him being silenced as those people who want him to back up his statements are  ;D Furthermore, he's always this matter-o-fact, even though he's usually wrong.

@ ZirconBlue: It's true that part of the lyrics of RTK are about Kevin Moore. However, it's only the latter verses ("I remember when you were the quiet type") not the first ones, which are more about the music industry.

You are correct that the beginning part of the song is about Jim Pitulski, but I think the dividing line is earlier in the song.  I don't see why Jim would ever have any publishing rights to "keep".

As far as ainamotore, Fiery Winds and Skydivingninja pretty much nailed it.  I don't care who he is--his posts were inappropriate, and he refused to tone it down.

Maybe I'm going soft, but while you are correct, I've also seen quite a few genuine "people of importance" shouted down as impostors by smug internet nerds.

I remember a few years ago, when Octavarium was about due for release, and some fella on DT.net insisted that he'd heard it and shared a few tidbits.

He was addressed very rudely, and eventually he left, saying something along the lines of "you'll be laughing on the other side of your faces when you listen to the title track and hear James LaBrie screaming 'TRAPPED INSIDE THIS OCTAVARIUM'."

Seem to recall it was met with general eyerolling. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out," kinda thing.
But that stuff is more plausible than someone claiming to be JP's brother-in-law, especially if it was around the same time reviewers were getting their copies of the album.

I honestly hope its Mangini, i have been a fan of his for such a long time (Since Vai) but I truly think (although the other drummers are great) he has a personality and playing style that really suites what DT would need as a drummer.  He is a groover, cocky, funny, respectful, and he looks like he has heaps of fun playing.
He is a big personality and I think this is what sets him apart from the rest.

Check out Fire Garden Suite by Steve Vai if anyone has any doubts about his creative playing...also the JLB solo albums (Mull, Mull2 & Elements).

I wish it was Donati, Land or Minneman etc but at the end of the day, I can see no other replacement than Mike Mangini....here's hoping!!!

Check this out if you cant imagine him being perfect for DT11.

Also, its a big call but Fire Garden Suite can easily be a contender on drums to Dance of Eternity.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

He still has to record something he had a hand in the songwriting besides Extreme's 3 songs on WFTP... but try any live bootlegs of Tribe Of Judah & Extreme ('95 tour), and Steve Vai's Alive in an Ultra World.

True! But people do post online.

One thing I remember is... er, there's a website, could be reddit or something? I don't really use those kinda sites, but one of them does something along the lines of "Ask a something." So it might be "ask a surgeon" and then a member who's a surgeon would answer a bunch of medical questions, or "ask a 70-year-old" and a seventy-year-old would answer all the members' questions about Werthers' Originals and retirement, etc. etc. "Ask a member of the Doctor Who Production Team" was one of them, and some guy started dropping loads of cool hints about the next series.

He was essentially burnt as a witch. He was also vindicated by history.

JP's brother-in-law is a little more of a long shot, but I keep seeing that kind of thing over and over again, so I've kinda started to err on the side of caution, lately. I'd say there's a good chance he's making stuff up. Very good chance. But it's not impossible. I don't think it's entirely implausible, either.

I think... that what I'm saying is that I don't necessarily think it's true - I'm not ready to fall for it just yet - but I do think it could be true. I don't really have any reason to doubt him, just yet. And if he's a liar, he seems like a clever one.

Elements of Persuasion.

Something I thought of.

I would say that both DS and JR have done by far their best work in DT.  JLB's abilities as a vocalist were fully developed in the context of the band.

Basically - it's not a given that Mangini will be exactly as good in DT as he was beforehand.  The band seems to have a knack for bringing out the best in its members.

Personally I'd say that from a keyboard standpoint DS has improved since then, but DT was certainly the best thing he'd done up to that point. Same with JR, as you say.

I've seen all the Mangini videos that have been posted on the forum, and I honestly don't see the creativity side... to me it's very "normal" nothing to write home about. Mangini is incredibly fast but that's it, at least from what I've heard so far... If he is indeed the chosen one I really hope he steps it up. To me he is not in the same league as Lang or Minnemann, as you guys know from my posts I'm a big supporter of Lang, but having seen Minnemann's chemistry with Jordan and his creative drumming I would be perfectly happy if they went with Minnemann.

The more I see of Minnemann, the more I hope he's the new drummer. The guy has everything. As for Mangini, he's very technical and all, but his style doesn't click for me.
