Oh, please. Not another comedy option.

I originally voted for Lang. Then changed it to Minnemann, then Lang again, then Minnemann AGAIN... and got stuck with it because Rob locked it.

I'm voting for Lang once again. If it's him or Minnemann I could consider myself satisfied.
Just for the record, I don't remember locking it. In fact, I actually got a wee bit disappointed when I realised the votes were locked, as I was just raring to switch my vote to Mangini.

Not saying it wasn't me. Very possible that I did it by accident. Sounds like something I'd do.
I'm not saying it was a bad thing (the lock thing) and I'm sure it was a mod.

My only issue is BENDER!!! Get rid off it.
It's kind of there as an "abstain" vote.

But, fair doos, I'll change it.

Voting again for Marco. I still think he is the perfect choice.

that's what I don't get though. It's not who you "want" it to be, it's who you genuinely think it will be.

I "want" lang, but I genuinely think it will be Mangini, given the very little evidence we have.

Just found this on Youtube. It is a reply from Peter to someone who commented on his video "Experiment".

@rapidryan Thanks a lot! Very glad you enjoy the clip and my playing. :-) Ha ha, yeah Dream Theater would have been cool...

Cheers,

Well my initial vote was Lang, based solely on what I thought would happen.  But now the votes have been reset, so eff it, going with who I hope got the job: Marco.

priester isnt my choice, but i definitely support the guy. the fact he auditioned is a bit of a FU to all who've bashed the mere idea of him as a replacement.

that being said, i expect mangini, but hold out hope for thomas or marco.

If you say so.  Personally, I'm still not sure why they let a no-name who is obviously not in the same upper tier as the other 6 audition, but I guess they thought they saw some potential that he could rise to the challenge.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised he actually was a candidate, although I'm sure he could have gotten the job done.

On a similar note, is anyone else surprised that Roddy auditioned? To me, he totally would totally not fit at all. Awesome drummer, though.

almost entirely deathmetal, with (very little) jazz background. as a drummer myself, him auditioning was totally out of left field to me.

Virgil is one of my favorites, I just don't know if he would fit DT's style.

I was just reading the drummerworld article on Derek. It make it seem like he is a jazz drummer stuck in a death metal band :) Plus, he actually doesn't have current employment right now (that we know of). If they were to really surprise us, he might be the one.

I had voted for Marco earlier, I kept my vote, but my feeling after all the rumors, etc. is that Mangini is it.

Mike Mangini seems to be the most likely candidate at this point. I still would love to see Thomas Lang as the new drummer, though.

I know Mangini is the most likley option here, but if we take who everyone thinks it will be given the evidence so far, everyone would vote Mangini so there would be no reason for having this poll. I think people are all voting who they prefer and not who they think is getting it because of that.

I won't say because I have some information most people don't have.  Still inconclusive information, and information that may not actually indicate who the person is, but information nonetheless.  But I will say this:  Way back when we didn't know anything and this poll was initially posted, I voted for Lang.  I never changed my vote, but I eventually became persuaded that it wasn't him.  BUT one of the reason I wrote him off was that someone said he had confirmation that Lang had injured his foot and didn't audition.  Now, from the video, we know that he did audition.  So...Hmm...  :justjen:

I see what you said, and it makes sense, I guess we just see it different ways.

This is a "place your bets" thread. Lets say we had 2k riding on our "bet".

I'm not gonna vote for who I want it to be, I'm gonna vote for who I genuinely think it to be. I want it to be Lang, but I truly believe it's Mangini.

If the title of this thread had said "who do you want it to be", that would be a totally different story.

I'm sensing a pattern.  Lang says he broke his foot and didn't audition....but he did.  Wildoer commented that he was flattered that people wanted him to audition, but he said he wasn't invited.  I wonder if DT is throwing out all these false red herrings just to screw with us.  Actually, it would be awesome if they did, because that puts everybody on an even plane.
