So the new album sounds like ass, but the songs are pretty good. Except maybe Dog Days which kinda sucks. Also, Xzibit doesn't ruin the song he's in. It's actually done well.

I haven't heard any of it yet, but what exactly does, 'sounds like ass' mean?
It is, the production, mix, mastering, and are you basing this on hearing the actual CD or mp3?

Production in general. And I've compared mp3 and flac and they both don't sound very good. The Unforgiving was nice and clear sounding. Hydra sounds a bit faded and heavily compressed.

then the chorus again, then Xzibit does a little rap, only managing to say motherfucker once, and then repeat chorus

I have Hydra on the way but a bit $:-\$ to hear it sounds like ass from someone who thinks The Unforgiving was clear sounding. I thought the guitars sounded like a wall of mud on that (great) album and was my only real criticism . Everything I'm hearing about Hydra suggests to me that it's not a patch on The Unforgiving but I'll try not to jump to conclusions.

Got my boxset yesterday...

So far the music is really really good, I can see what Zook means. Its the same shit compression DT12 has, but not as bad.

My favorite has to be Edge of The World.

Oh yeah, Sharon is top notch on this album.

I don't think the sound is THAT bad, it's just a bit overly compressed but I've heard much worse. The mix is pretty good though, so it's a shame the compression makes it feel a bit more closed in.

The music is great though, some really catchy choruses in particular!
