Halloween will return with a 12 MINUTES single, Skyfall, written by Kai Hansen!!!

Release date: 5th of April 2021

Beats me why they announce a single THIS early (heck, it would be early for the entire album announcement) but hey, at least we have something to look forward to I guess?

Because they are selling the single in a physical format in different versions. Multiple bites of the apple (pumpkin).

Announcing the single 4 months before release?

It's great to have something to look forward to, but that is a long time! Press release said that the album is expected to be out by summer. How much do you want to bet that the Russian/European tour will be pushed back again (which wouldn't be all that surprising). It is supposed to start in April, but why would they go to tour if the album is not even out? Still very excited to hear the album though!

Again, it wouldn't be surprising that the tour would be delayed again because Covid...

I believe they did, and I remember reading news about a video being filmed. I wouldn't be surprised if more than a band in these months would record a complete album, and then sit on it until a clear plan for release and safe touring is available.

A teaser a month in advance of a single being released is pretty over the top, but fair enough it's a 12 minute song.

Didn't sound anything particularly special, but it's only a short snippet, and there's something about having Hansen and Kiske back that just makes me feel like they're having a lot of fun with it all. And that in itself interests me.

The video looks like it's gonna be one of the cheesiest, coolest and over the top videos ever made

I'm quite confident about it, the snippet seems to wind down on the bridge right before exploding into what I assume is gonna be a kickass bombastic chorus!

I just hope that Charlie Bauerfeind hasn't fucked up the mix and mastering as he did with the last Blind Guardian.
Which had great songs, terrible mix, with drums almost totally compressed and almost inaudible.

If I recall correctly, the liner notes for Keeper 1 contain a statement chastising folks for referring to the band as "Halloween" or the song as "Helloween."
