I wonder if there is any truth that Vince McMahon fired Roland and Uli on behalf of Helloween.

Last night, I spent the night going down the Helloween rabbit hole on Youtube. I watched a Kiske interview where he mentioned that Roland Grapow was asked to participate in the Pumpkins United tour but he declined.

Been thinking about this here.  How would tgis work, 4 guitars the whole show? That seems overkill.  Or would he come out only for a Grapow era set or something.  I'm intrigued what would happen here.  Although it doesn't surprise me he declined, there was some really bad blood when he and Uli were fired.

Weird, as i recall Markus saying in an interview that Roland an Uli were not asked to rejoin, as it would be "too many people"

I don't know what's going on there. Besides i don't think Roland and Uli would have wanted to be anywhere near Helloween again.

There's an interview when the first Masterplan came out (I think the interview was actually included on the cd of the album) where Uli and Roland are obviously very bitter about the way Helloween ended.  I think they both dislike Weiki and maybe Andi very much.  I'd have to find the interview.

This thread has inspired me to revisit a lot of the "middle" period Helloween album. Master of the Rings is better than I remember - very solid and consistant but a bit cheesy in places. Onto Time of the Oath now, one of the best Deris-era albums - always enjoyed this one.

Yep, I'm sad it doesn't get any love. My best friend had this song playing for his wedding dance, it was great.

Alright, actual early Gambling favourites;

Kill It
The Saints
Paint a New World
Final Fortune
The Bells of the Seven Hells
Fallen to Pieces
Dreambound
See the Night

Found a new found appreciation of Dreambound.    I love the album as a whole but this one doesn't have as many individual songs that would make a top 25.

Shit I thought that was on there.  How did I miss it.  Not sure if it would make the cut though.

I still don't understand the Heaven Tells No Lies love.

Heaven Tells No Lies has amazing melodies, that's why. Definitely one of the best on Gambling imo. Great lyrics too which is not something I can usually say for the band. The "I will return, you have to burn" part is heavy as hell too.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.
"I don't worry about nothing, no, 'cause worrying's a waste of my time"
