Yeah seriously. TMOLS makes it up there but no Lines In The Sand?
TMoLS > Lines in the Sand

Now that just ain't right.
Don't get me wrong. Lines in the Sand has a brilliant solo (and I wish the rest of the song were half as good)

Also, which A Change of Seasons solo are you referring to? There is more than one.

Nah I'd think the solo in "The Inevitable Summer".

Personally, I see the Another World and Inevitable Summer really as one solo with a brief pause...

I refuse to participate in any poll of this type that doesn't have Under a Glass Moon as one of the options. Sorry.

I understand. I simply thought it was too cliche a choice...

What??? no Under a Glass Moon Solo in the list??? This one make him famous back in the 90's, and its not in the list?? voted one of the 100 greatest guitar solos of all time back in 98 in guitar world magazine!!!

not that i had voted for it, voices get my vote, but you can not make a good contest without it.

That's an awesome one. Definitely one of my favorites. It's like the perfect limelight solo that just really makes you respect Petrucci. When Labrie announces John Petrucci's name, and during a single break in the solo he raises his hand, pointing up like, "Yeah, bitches, that's me." and goes right back to finishing a great solo and the song.

I voted for "A change of Seasons" the solo at the 15:30 mark is the best of them all.  The lyrics before it make me think of my ex wife and J.P sets the mood perfectly.

Hell yeah. "Another World" was one of my early favorites and it annoys me to think that Petrucci wanted to chuck it until Prater convinced him not to.

Is is the "Another World" one or the one that begins "Inevitable Summer"? I prefer the latter, which is the one I thought Prater was referring to. If that's the case I actually find it hard to believe that Petrucci didn't realize how good it was. His playing was restrained and tasteful throughout the rest of the song, it's crazy to think he wanted to go into shred-mode at that point. Maybe the recorded version is an improved version of the one he wanted to scrap?

Tunnel Vision?
Jaws of Life?
Damage Control?
Glasgow Kiss?

You're seeing where I'm going with this, I honestly think Petrucci's Solo stuff > DT guitar solos.

Also, anyone who think Petrucci's lost emotion, listen to Tunnel Vision.

I went with LITS, and I'm kind of surprised that UAGM wasn't listed.  And also that TBOT is winning by that margin.  N00bs.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

I think the person who made this poll needs to listen to every song by Dream Theater, and realize what the REAL epics are. TBOT solo is not impressive or creative in anyway.

Well, I actually think that solo is the best thing about the song.  But I just think he's done a LOT better.
