Hey, all! It's my first post here on DTF! I thought it would be a fun topic to make a poll on (and, yes, I'm sure there's a couple other hundred polls like this!).

Anyways -it's extremely tough for me to decide ONE specific solo as a favorite, but it would must likely end up being Ocatavarium; that solo can move mountains... it is also the catalyst for the Big Bang!

Runner ups would be: In the Name of God, A Change of Seasons, Voices and Goodnight Kiss

colors FTW...

Edit: I've added Lines in the Sand and Another Day. I was thinking of doing another poll of other JP solos with those (Lines, Another) included initially...

Welcome, interesting list.

Of those, I'd probably pick LtL, the second solo in ACOS, or Erotomania.

For the record, ITNOG is arguably my LEAST favorite Petrucci solo.

Tough. I went with Octavarium, although it could have easily been TBOT, TGP or Peruvian Skies.

Don't get me wrong. Lines in the Sand has a brilliant solo (and I wish the rest of the song were half as good) but the closing solo in TMoLS is my favourite DT outro besides Octavarium and aCoS.

Fair enough. I just never got the excitement over that one guitar line repeating over and over and over again. I wouldn't even call that a solo, just a very pronounced lead line since there is no variation.
