Gimme Ten Great Intro's
« on: October 08, 2010, 02:13:30 PM »
They don't have to be your favorites. Why? Because I know I'd have a hell of a time picking my top 10. I do have my list of ten pretty damn good ones however:

1. Knocking At Your Back Door- Deep Purple
2. Black Betty- Ram Jam
3. Slow Ride- Foghat
4. Immigrant Song- Led Zeppelin (In the Evening is also good)
5. Baba O'Riley- The Who
6. Sweet Emotion- Aerosmith
7. Crazy On You- Heart
8. Master of Puppets- Metallica (Tons to choose from with Metallica)
9. Hot For Teacher- Van Halen
10. Iron Man- Black Sabbath

Thoughts?

Check out Somebody To Shove by Soul Asylum. A great but short guitar riff in the intro.

Knocking at your Back Door was just unreal live.  My ears were dammaged for days.

Roundabout--Yes
Detroit Rock City--Kiss
Live in the Fast Lane--Eagles

Just a few of the top of my head.

Oh! That reminds me.
As amazing as Overture of "Tommy" is.
"I Am The Sea" might be my favorite concept record intro.

Ok I have to stop myself from making another list but here. Another GREAT concept opener.

Damn,  beat me by three hours.  I agree though, the intro to Quadrophenia is awesome.  Especially Entwistle's opening base riff in The Real Me.

Does it actually have an intro? I could count it like 5 seconds or something. :lol Well not if you're talking about Overture.
