By the way, no live recordings of the new song?

About the demo.

Do they play any of those songs live?

And for those who don't have it and are looking to get it, I think the only way to get it is to email the band, that's what I did. They sent me a copy for free, along with a bunch of other goodies such as a poster, stickers, a pamphlet with some bio stuff and pics, and business cards. If they're going to give the demo an 'official' release remastered, I don't know if they'll do it now, you might have to wait til it gets released.
Do you know if they will ship to the USA ?

There's a guy on the Haken forum that will mail you the demo and other little bits of Haken stuff if you send a PM requesting it. no charge, he just needs your address. Sounds very sketchy, I know, but that's how I got mine. I couldn't believe it. He's apparently an agent for Haken and he mails anyone the demo who asks for it.
Cool. I sent the band an e-mail just to be sure, but if they don't get back to me I'll look for that guy.

Looking forward to it! I felt like he took a huge leap forward between the demo and the debut, but then took a step back with Vision.

Even though I like Aquarius more than Visions I don't think I'd describe it as "a step back" though.

Vocally I think so. Aquarius was mostly good vocally because Ross kinda stayed in his comfort range, so you heard the nice characteristics of his voice without any of those characteristics being  stretched into defects. Visions has a lot of nice moments too, but a lot of those "soaring" moments where Ross' unique traits (and, let's admit it, pitchiness) start to work against him.

But we've been through this already. You guys like high-pitched operatic Ross and I don't, so we're not bound to really agree.

This.  I actually liked Aquarius more at first,  but Visions is fantastic.  Definitely not a step back IMO.

BTW, does anybody have a ballpark figure of when the new album will be released?

Patiently? How? Are you dozed on Prozac or something?

Simply overloaded with work, friends, hockey, and other hobbies. Makes waiting for this sort of thing a lot easier!

Naturally not. That would take time away from listening to prog music. Unless you found a prog girlfriend. I've never  met one, but I'm told they exist.  :yeahright

I haven't been able to locate one of those for myself yet sadly, but when I'm home I basically can listen to whatever I want. I'm not a big fan of death vocals, but certain things I listen to have them in some capacity, and that's about the only thing I don't play around her.

My boyfriend is only into prog in small capacities, so my potential is being wasted.
