Nah it's a good point, I think Nick had originally changed it which was good as it got a bit of buzz going, but it's definitely very out of date now!

I love these lines in Nocturnal Conspiracy:

"A man will live forever"

and

"But it seems overnight I've become a killer"

Both the melodies, harmonies and text combined makes me feel so sad and i can almost feel the confusion and stress he feels after facing a possible murder conviction for something he doesn't believe he has done. A very powerful song IMO!

Funny thing: I was watching Boardwalk empire at the same time i was delving into this album and the character of Michael Pitt pops up in my head every time i hear those lines! Weird!

I loaded this forum, opened multiple threads in multiple tabs and started reading through them as I always do. At the end, only two threads I cared about were still left to read: the Periphery thread and this one.

...and I wondered what he could mean, I haven't seen any other band announce anything so far but he clearly said that multiple bands had announced something today. Then I saw the the Haken thread was still left to read and I got an anticipation rush like schoolgirls have on boybands, praying: "Please, God, let it be a new Haken album".

I reckon the next album I don't think will be a concept album. I think concept albums are great because they really take the listener on a journey. But I don't think it's essential for a prog band to have concept albums. So we're going to explore different ways to write the music...

So far I've got about 9 songs written, they're almost their I just need to tie them all together. I thnk the songs will be a lot more individual. I think it will be a lot more important for each song to have it's own identity. I'm sure there will be hints in certain songs to other songs. Like you might hear a chorus that is similar to that of another song.

With the formula for the last 2 albums, we've ended with a big long epic so I think it's time to try something new. Having said that the songs are still going to be around the 8 minute mark. So it's still going to be prog.

Can't wait for the next album. I was kind of expecting another concept album, but a more song-oriented album is good too, it'll offer something new out of the band, aside from whatever influences inspire them this time around.

I hope they don't try too hard to sound like DT. Visions was a step in the wrong direction IMO. It's still a great album, just a bit too conservative and DT-like.
