Because It's There from start to finish is amazing, and it's the song that made me stop, listen to it, and begin to absorb what Haken was doing this time. It's amazing.

Yes, exactly. I just finished another listen - man so much amazingness in it.

DT12 has its work cut out for it :)

Personally, I don't think The Mountain is going to beat Haken's fourth album, but I think it has a shot at outdoing their fifth because.

DT 24 is totally going to beat Haken 15 though.

It could, but it'll be close. I think all 3 Haken albums beat every DT album since Train Of Thought, at least.

Never listened to them. I am right now though and have to admit these guys kinda rock.
Falling Back To Earth is pretty impressive.

Awesome concept for the video.

First, I was impressed by the ballsy move to release Cockroach King as a single, but then I saw that this is a castrated "single edit" and that they removed the jazz section in the middle >:(

This was awesome. Strange coincidence that TesseracT did something similar as a joke just the other week. But this one was a hundred times better and funnier. So many great moments that actually made me laugh.

It's also amazing how much they've captured the look of each member. Ray in particular is just instantly recognisable!

2 thoughts.

One: That video is fucking awesome. I didn't lol but only because I am at the office.

Two: While I still think CK is one of Haken's worst songs, I must say it's a lot better on stand alone that as a part of the mountain. I enjoyed it a lot more this time (the video might have something to do with that, or that I've been listening to Agents of Mercy)

The video is really quite cool. It's really very nice that it's so family-friendly (showed it to my eight-year-old cousin and he loved it!). And I love it when the puppets pop out behind the singer close to the end!

Re: particularly amazing passages, I just have to say: Those notes in Because It's There between the initial choir-like part and the rest of the song are brilliant! So haunting...

CK has grown on me so much. The first time I listened to it I was like 'WTF is this  :\ '. Now I think it's awesome, along with the rest of the album  :metal

According to Ray, it was Charlie who made the puppets, so they'll be making repeat appearances (not sure if that means at gigs or in future videos) :lol

Next time when you talk to him, please ask him whether a "director's cut" of the video, featuring the whole song, exists. If they have made a full video as well, it would be a shame not to upload it anywhere ;D

I asked him on facebook, and his response was:

"only for single but we've got enough footage in theory for a full length eventually. for live use perhaps?"

We need some nickname for puppets, maybe "Hakets", and tell Haken how much we love them. I seriously want to see more of them in the future.

And a proper European tour. InsideOut doesn't seem to realize their potential.

The reason why I love the General Music section is a lot of bands I never heard of are introduced.  Someone recommended Haken and I first listened to Aquarius and liked it so next went to Visions and love it especially the first two tracks.  I have not yet listened to the new cd, but cannot wait.

I would love to see these guys live.  Hopefully they will tour the US in some of the major markets.
