Whoa!
« on: October 10, 2010, 07:19:30 PM »
Was just listening to The Shattered Fortress, and it hit me. The drums from 3:16-3:30 are like the exact same as the chorus of Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold.

Pretty cool.

At first I was like  -_-

And then I was like -_-
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. The drums to the chorus of Nightmare is an extremely generic cut time double bass pattern. There's probably 6000000 songs that have the exact same beat, Rick Astley probably wrote four of them.

The title of this thread sugests that Keanu Reeves is a fan of DT.

Portnoy does that all of the time, so does Neil Peart, which is probably where he picked it up from. Hell, even I do it when I get the oppurtunity.

Nothing new here.  MP is well known for having a "bag of tricks" from which he regularly draws.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
