And their vinyl is notorious for being rare, sought after and pricey af.

Hope the fact these sold out so quickly means they'll release each record separately.

yeah I remember seeing a copy at a Local Record store of Deloused like 7 or 8 years ago for $300. I was pretty shocked by that, but then came to realize it was pretty common.

I saw a copy of Octahedron for around $60 a couple of years ago and passed. I don't mind that record, but I don't like it enough to spend even half that much on it.

Yeah I think with a boxset you're not just paying for what's included but also in this case a limited collector's edition that depending on how big of a fan you are would make it worth it.

For me it's too much in terms of how big of a Mars Volta fan I am, but if they were my favorite band I'd probably pay up just to own it.

THE MASK OF THE PHANTASM ?

I know it's not TMV, but I was just suggested this album over the weekend and I am rather hooked!

Think The Mars Volta with a vocalist somewhat like Courtney Swain from Bent Knee, and using really tasty Saxophone at times. Like many, many Sax breakdowns.

The debut album from The Mask of the Phantasm "New Axial Age" was released in 2021, and is about 42 and a half minutes, so it hardly drags on much. But it's rather non-stop with riff after riff and breakdowns with a lot of soaring female vocals.

Very recommended for The Mars Volta fans

Nice! Thank you. Took a moment, but once I refreshed Spotify it showed up. Same with the thumbnails in Youtube. Hoping there are more concerts if they are reuniting.

it's funny how multiple times in the last year, Cedric has posted about being retired.

But I've seen conflcting comments about their comeback from some of the fan communities also within the last few months.

I only just found this video of what the coordinates are for. They put up a "Voltabox" - a big container to get into to hear 3 minutes of new music clips along with some visuals.

I think it's a perfect single to whet the appetite. It doesn't give too much away and I rather that than a nine minute epic or something. I personally hope they don't drop another single before the album.

I guess I'm going to be going back through their catalogue today then

I've never been in love with this band, but have felt I've been on the cusp of really 'getting' them for a while. I really like a few albums and songs, but there's a large majority of their catalogue I just think is fine. They are an intriguing band though, and I revisit them probably more than a lot of bands I like considerably more.
