New JLB Interview (merged)
« on: September 30, 2010, 05:27:53 PM »
Hey guys...don't know if this has been posted, but there is a new JLB interview in this podcast: https://purerockradio.org/podcast/?p=1634
It's pretty cool and talks about Static Impulse, Portnoy and etc.
One of the cool questions was "if you guys made a movie for SFAM, who would play Victoria?" and Labrie answers "John Myung"  :lol
Anyways, just in case you didn't catch it...

Fantastic interview.

"Why do you think women aren't as into prog?"
JLB: "For them, it's the one time we last too long".  :lol

Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

Also, i don't know about you guys, but as far as I can remember, that was the longest interview in a podcast with any DT member. Oh well...it was a well-spent hour of awesome procrastination!

Nice to know that they have drummers picked out for auditions. Or at least, that's what I got out of it

Just listened to Soundgarden: Black Rain, which James praised so much. The vocals are really good.

Got as far as the DT stuff...(I have to go to work!).

But really a great and positive outlook on the future of DT.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

He has a great outlook on DT and has an extremely open mind with music!

The most interesting thing to me was James saying that he likes to record his vocals on his own, without the other guys telling him what to do.

Judging how he sounds on his solo albums vs. how he sounds on his DT albums, I'm inclined to believe that he's right.

Despite being an hour or even longer, it's well worth all listen.  It's not a chore to listen through.  James is an intelligent level headed dude and the interviewers ask some reasonable questions.

And JLB just goes, "Am I sad?!"  :lol

Great interview so far, and I think this puts to rest the question of how much CJS is involved with the writing and composition of his songs.

CJS is just awesome.  He had me laughing a bunch, and it was really cool to hear about all the types of music he's a fan of.

LaBrie for president 2012.  Even though he's only 22 (and Canadian)

Yup. I was really excited when they released that. I figured it would just be something mediocre because it never made it on an album, but it's great. Vintage Chris Cornell was otherworldly (and he's still freaking awesome).
