im curious about the tastes of the members here. it's obvious most here enjoy rock, pop, metal, progressive music, etc. but i wonder if there's more eclectic tastes on this forum.

This is the thread where you can list your recent top 5-7 favorite bands and artists, and your top 10 of all time. (they can overlap, of course) and discuss them if your want; make recommendations, etc... So, i'll begin

A Top 10 artists list won't necessarily illustrate that though. People might listen to heaps of different stuff, but I think in a lot of cases, peoples' favourites tend to hone in on an area they enjoy the most.

That's a great list. I can see where the piano virtuoso in you comes out in those choices. Brahms is probably at the top of my list too, but as far as piano-specific composers are concerned, I'd personally add Schumann, Scarlatti, Schubert and Scriabin to the mix. Maybe Ravel too.
