Ten Thousand Strong: Sorry Birch. This kicked the crap out of your song. This was great. I’ve actually heard this before very long ago and I didn’t like it. I didn’t even like it on the first listen and then I started to notice how epic it truly was. The guitars, characteristic of Iced Earth are always badass but these seemed to be a bit more in your face and Ripper’s voice is sick here. AND THAT CHORUS!!!!!!!!!! Dude…usually, I post bits and pieces of songs that I dig but here, I would need to post the whole chorus, and that would take to much room. Fucking awesome dude!!!

Tenacious D-Fuck Her Gently: Wow…Um…I died. Of laughter. I didn’t like it in the beginning. I just found it was funny but not good…that changed after a few listens. So…wow…um…wow. I’M GONNA BALL YOU DISCRETELY!!!!! I couldn’t help but song along and just cry from laughing. THAT’S FUCKING TEAM WORK!!!! Dude…fuck…um…wow. I love the fact that the music is so soft and mellow and Jack Black has the softest, most awesome voice and the lyrics don’t fit the song at all. WHATS YOUR FAVORITE DISH? I WON’T COOK IT FOR YOU BUT I’LL ORDER IT FROM ZANZIBAR!!!!!! Dude…um…wow.
Orcus116-
The Raconteurs-
Rich Kid Blues: Great song. It was very fun and I was singing along by the end but it wasn’t an epic sing along like Iced Earth. In fact, I can’t even really explain why I was doing it, but I was. I also thought this sounded very U2ish, but then again, you should probably ignore me. I compare every band to U2. I think it’s Bono fault…it always it…but anyway…this is a great song and I am going to have a hard time placing it. Gah!!!! I GOT SHOES AND MONEY AND GOOD FRIENDS TOO…It is also a beautiful song at times.
Medium:YtseBitseySpider-
Stan Bush-The Touch: Video aside, this song was pretty good. I wouldn’t really know where to stick this genre wise, but that doesn’t really matter. Probably in between AOR and pop, but anyway…it is pretty good. It is very singalongable. YOU GOT THE TOUCH!!! YOU GOT THE POWAH!!!!
Um…whatelse to say? Stan Bush has funny hair. It really is a good song. Not much else.
WHEN ALL HELLS BREAKING LOSE YOULL BE RIDING IN THE EYE OF THE STORM!!!! Cool song dude.

Decedence Dance: I am often comparing bands to other bands. (as you can see from my write up about Orcus’s song) and usually, the same bands come up. But this is the first time I’ve ever compared a band to this one. Van Halen. It reminded a lot of Van Halen…and Kiss. Interesting. It is a very fun song. Fun is a great way to describe it. It was singalongable and the guitar was pretty great. DANCE, DANCE!!! DANCE, DANCE!!!! Cool song, bro.

Come Clarity: So, where to start. The instrumentation hit me immediately. It was very hypnotizing. The singer’s voice isn’t bad but I don’t like that they added the effects to his voice. It really took away from the awesome. This song is definitely a “lighter” song like we were talking about. Not much more to say. It is good. It could have been better…fucking producers.
I WANT YOU TO LEAVE ME…AND TAKE ME SOMEWHERE!!! Great solo as well.
Genowyn-
Coheed and Cambria-In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3: Congratulations! You send me a Coheed song that didn’t make me want to rip off my ears. The instrumentation work is badass, as with all the songs I’ve heard from these guys, and Claudio’s voice was grating in the beginning and still is, but it wasn’t as bad. The chorus was pretty good. It was just overall a pretty good song. To be honest though, this does not change my opinion. I couldn’t listen to this for an extended period of time, but for 8 and a half minutes, I can. MAN YOUR BATTLE STATIONS!!!!

Iced Earth-
Stand Alone: So the first thing that hits you with this song is an amazing galloped rhythm guitar that made me nearly smile…everywhere. But then, things kinda went down hill from there. The song isn’t bad but it isn’t good. It reminds me of Anthrax but not as good. The instrument work is incredibly badass, and is something Iced Earth should be known for (they are, so…why am I saying they should be…) but anyway, instrumentation was badass but non of the rest of the song stuck out.
Marvelous G-
Lou Reed-
Sweet Jane: Ok, I need to start by saying to all those who dig this song that I saw Metallica perform this with Lou Reed on October 30th, 2009. Suck it.
Anyways, incredibly long intro aside, the song is very good. Fucking hard rocking and awesome. Problem though is, it didn’t really fit with the category. If it was an over all song deal, it might rank higher (that riff is great and I love the way Reed delivers his vocals) but it really didn’t make me want to sing along with it. You’ll do fine next round.

RES: Dude…WTF!?!?! Should I even go on? Annoying circus like keys and some dude that sounded like Roger Waters on crack screaming at me through my head phones…no.
So, sorry Ytse. You were so close it wasn't even funny. It was another one of those spur of the moment gut choices.

NEXT ROUND:
"Classic Metal"
Now, as to not get confused with this as we did with "classic" I am looking for a song that is metal and is either A) classic because it is done by a band that was a long time ago so it has become sort of antigue metal or B) a newer band doing a newer song that has a classic vibe to it
If you guys think of this as a conflict of interest, seeing as how this is my favorite genre of music, I can assure you I have not heard everything and I look forward to your submissions.
Good luck.
