DT songs done by Symphony/Orchestra
« on: September 21, 2010, 02:36:53 PM »
inspired by the Rudess thread about the orchestra he put together, and by "Score"

what DT songs (or even LTE songs) would you say could sound good if played by an orchestra?

obviously SDOIT, 8V, Metropolis pt 1, Vacant, Sacraficed Sons, and TALW were done with the band backed by an orchrestra, but im talking about JUST an orchestra, no band.

i think besides the above mentioned, this is my list

The Count of Tuscany
The Spirit Carries On (shouldve been done at Score)
Finally Free
Stream of Consciousness (should have been played after Vacant on Score)
Overture 1928
A Change of Seasons
Learning to Live
Space Dye Vest
Repentance

that's all i got for now

Space Dye Vest
The simplicity of SDV is what makes it so great. It being played by an orchestra would probably be rather disappointing

Bump! Did not know where else to post this.

Not a full orchestra but I found this version of SDV to be quite beautiful.

This is what happens when you give nerds some power.

But yes, it's quite pretty.

I don't believe a string quartet would count as an orchestra, but there are some pieces covered by the Vitamin String Quartet.

Overture 1928, Pull Me Under, As I Am, Peruvian Skies, The Dance Of Eternity, Lifting Shadows Off A Dream, Ytse Jam, Hell's Kitchen.

I bought this one (and I think one other that they did).  Not very good.
