Just beat the game last night, only to realize that there is probably more end game content than there is main game content :lol

Elaborate please? That was what I always disliked about Red/Blue and Gold/Silver, that as soon as you beat the Elite Four, there wasn't much else to do.

the seven sages
I think there's another country to open, a bunch of adventures that get activated by legendaries being traded to it...INCLUDING catching Zoroark. And then there's DreamWorld.......or whatever it's called on the engrish version.

You need the manaphy egg from Ranger-Guardian Signs for something I think too...and the three shiny legendaries given out at the game stop give aways do something as well.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.

So what's the deal with these wings. Like, the "genius wing" or the "Muscle Wing". Can I just keep getting them and giving them to a Pokemon to buff out one of their stats?

Yeah, they give your pokemon 1 EV in a certain stat.

Yeah, I just noticed that. Fuck it, it's going to take way too long to do that. It's like cheap EV training from what I'm reading.

I must admit that EV's and IV's are one thing I don't really care to learn about. I mean I like breeding some great teams but that stuff makes my head spin.

It's pretty simple really.

Some pokemon have an EV yield (https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Deino_(Pok%C3%A9mon) in the bar to the right, look to the bottom for example)

For every 4 EV points you get in a certain stat, it raises that stat one point. Deino's EV wield is 1 in Attack. So if you fight four Deinos, you'll gain one attack point.

So whats an IV then? I didn't know about these "IVs" that you alledge exist...

Up to Chargestone Cave now, caught a Joltik for my team; I'm thinking the Bug/Electric has gotta come in for something right?

Shut up its awesome, or maybe you should've caught an awesome sandile when you had the chance.

Riceball: IVs are individual values.  They're the reason stats are different between pokemon.  Each stat gets a value between 0 and 31.  The higher the IV, the higher the stat will be.  There's some equation that determines what the actual value of a stat will be, involving a pokemon's base stats, IVs, EVs, and level.  You know that little descriptor pokemon have now like "Likes to Thrash About?"  Those tell you its highest stat, and there are five possible values that stat's IV could be.  For example, I have a Galvantula that Likes to Run.  So speed is its highest stat, and the highest IV possible is 28.  Talking to the IV guy, who says its speed is fantastic, I can conclude that it has a 28 Speed IV, so it'll be pretty darn fast.

EDIT - Chris, buy this and battle me you fuck. It's like 3 dollars. You only have to pay 3 dollars to get your ass kicked, that's awesome

The furthest I got in Diamond was 65... I couldn't imagine getting up to level 100.

Actually, I think the highest I've ever gotten in any Pokemon game (without rare candies, of course) was 80 something in silver.

do you think your wu-tan style.....can defeat me!!

100 - Rayquaza
100 - Tyranatar
100 - Tyranatar
100 - Gyrarados
100 - Mew2
100 - Mew

All but one of the Tyranatars were raised by me to the high 80's and rare candied the rest of the way.

Rina: Is using rare candies less effective?

(Also, I don't have a cheat thingy anymore like when I was a kid, lol, so how do I get these "rare candies" you speaks of. :neverusethis:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure rare candied pokemon are less powerful than ones that are naturally leveled. Actually, I don't think I've used a rare candy since the original gen.

Yeah, it's better to actually battle to level up, as you gain those EV points I mentioned earlier. If you use rare candies that's all well and good but your pokemon will be much stronger if you do it the old fashioned way.

once you've maxed out certain stats from raising them wrong...like I did..you just rare candy them the rest of the way.

I use flash carts, and multiple save files of Heart Gold to level up my gang. I have a HG save file that I found online it has 999 of every single item in the game. It also had some legit not Game Sharked Legendaries on there. Anyhow, I would trade my gang to that DS, level them up, trade them back to the DS (and save file) I was actually using.

if you have wi-fi I we can arrange a trade time. I'll take some, level them up, and return them to you. Depending on how low they are the process can take a while.

Still Rina:

I've never done wi-fi, can I just do that from the game? I've only ever battled/traded from infrared.

Do you have Wireless internet in your house accessible? Like...for a laptop say?

That's how it's done.
I traded with Rob. Worked really well.

I do. (At Volk's house atm though)

So I can just do the wifi settings on the actual DS and then that's it?

Correction: If you use rare candies before your pokemon's EV points are filled (all 510), then you won't get those extra bonuses.  Once they are filled, however, you can rare candy up as much as you like and you'll get the stat boosts.

@Ytse: Dude that team is SO OU illegal.  If you want to do an ubers match though I can oblige you as soon as I train up this here Palkia...

@ZBomber: Two words: Action Replay.  A bajillion rare candies and EV vitamins for your training convenience.

I'm pretty sure now in black and white versions you can get EV points still after getting to level 100, so that might be a way to go.

How do I do EV points? And do I know how many I have?
