I just use the serebii IV calculator after visiting the hidden power guy.  Where's this EV/IV guy in BW?

What level did you/are you guys plan on evolving Elektrik into Elektross? His moveset seems to take a nosedive after 44 with Thunderbolt.

How do I get them to that?

I meant from the actual first and second generation, as in Pokemon I have on Red/Blue/Gold/Silver etc. Do I have to trade from Red to Gold to Ruby to Diamond to White, or is there an easier way?  :lol

Um...not sure if you can transfer them to the GBA games (don't think you can) but you definitely can't transfer them from GB to DS.

Damn. :( I'm worried about losing my Pokemon in those gens. My Ruby already lost its battery, so I lost all of those Pokemon. I did buy some kind of back up software for the first two gens, but it is pretty old now and I'm worried about that failing too.

Wait, your copy of Ruby lost its battery?  The cartridge had a battery?  Explain?

Yeah, the old Gameboy/Adances games run off a battery for the memory. I guess the one in Ruby ran dry, so I can't save anymore. I know you can replace them, but I'm too lazy... and I think if you replace them you lose any save data you had on the old battery.

well, Im still on holiday and only one ds came with us, so we bought a copy of white and black and my son is playing one of them, he is on the fourth gym leader.

probably good that i have a bit of a delay, I finished the asian version of this game rather quickly...but he has all the neccessary traders from ranger that you need to unlock stuff....I think Zorark is the big one to unlock looking forward to that.

Anyone around to help me evolve my Gurdurr? Just a quick trade back and forth. You can trade me something that will evolve as well if you need!

Dammit Pokemon Black.  All I want right now is to go up to a shaking grass patch, catch a panpour, have it be FEMALE, then make it have sex with this level 50 Liepard so it can have little nasty plot babies.  Right now you're really not helping me out on the female bit.  Is it really too much to ask for?

For the first time ever, I'm thinking about dumping my starter from my main team.

I've got a Servive atm (lvl 22), and I'm getting a bit concerned at its lack of firepower. It seems to be geared towards the whole Leech Seed/Mega Drain/Giga Drain path; which I've never really had a thing for. From what I remember, starters have always been offensively-oriented, so Snivy et al. is taking me by suprise.
 :millahhhh
Thoughts?

Same with me. I have plenty of other firepower in my party so I'm not terribly worried, I just won't throw him up front unless I really need to. Being an avid party builder I kinda like the challenge and thankfully mine has a nature that allows for more attack.

Currently up to the 6th gym rocking a party of:

Serperior - 36
Throh - 35
Simipour - 31
Excadrill - 31
Darumaka - 33
Tynamo - 30

I can't wait to get Darmanitan and Eelektross.

Yeah I see the complementarity (economist word hehe) in that team, and I seem to be heading down a path of having a couple of defensive-oriented members. My party right now is (second badge):

Servine - 22
Herdier - 21 (Take Down oooooooooooooooooh yeah)
Munna - 21
Roggenrolla - 22

I'm gonna get Darumaka from Route 4 as my next addition.
In the long-term, I know I'm gonna need a water and a flying (flying I'll be looking at a duel type) and I want something a bit more left-field like an ice or dragon, so someone is gonna have to fall away.

I took Herdier out ASAP to fill in some other spots. I just don't like Normal that much no matter how much HP, Attack and moves they might have. I had a Roggenrolla as well, even made it to Boldore but once I saw the benefit of Excadrill I jettisoned it from my party. You'll find that Ground is much more useful than Rock very soon.

Yeah my thinking is to go with Darumaka et al as a substitute for Herdier. IDK, I find it much more efficient to focus on 3-4 members until, say, midgame when it a) gets easier to raise lower levels fast and b) there more scope to experiment. I'm set on Munna et al, Roggenrolla et al and Darumaka et al; the rest will work itself out from there.

I think, i caught a pokemon early in Black that was Bellosom that had sleep powder and giga drain.....and I walked through game using it. It looked like a bellosom but the names were in japanese so hard to be sure. It levelled faster than anything else because it was always out  and it learned soothing scent or something that cured all effects which was helpful. Im thinking I too will refrain from collecting my vicintini, this game was so easy to get through compared to HG.

Yeah thats me too, but like I said above I'm having a hard time justifying it at the moment once I get to a situation where I need a fly-er and a surf-er.

Those who have finished: I've noticed that grass isn't really a "necessary" type in BW, is this true?

Well, I've beaten the main story of Black, and now rather than exploring the rest of Unova, I'm training new pokemon for a cool endgame team.  The plan right now is:

Excadrill
Galvantula
Carracosta
Hydreigon
Chandelure (from old team)
Sawk (from old team)

Man there are just so many cool pokemon I want to use...

Liepard
Cinncino
Samurott
Chandelier
Traded from my other game: Vaporeon + Persian

I'm a beast.  :hat
