Haha, she deserved it. :D
I normally had problems too, since many of the times I have Quilava, Scyther and Pidgeotto in my team at that point, and they are all victims for Rollout.
But normally I catch a Mareep early on, and when I have Flaafy I just pwn her.

I did have a Flaaffy! But he was male, so he couldn't do shit because of Attract. Besides, what move does your Flaaffy have that owns her so much? ???

Normally I get the miltank paralyzed, then the rollout wont be as much of a problem.
Then I just go for Thundershocks. :D

Oh yeah, I tried that, but the paralyzation only seemed to take effect 1/3 of the time, and it certainly didn't stop her from healing herself. And besides, half the time when Miltank couldn't move, my pokemon would be "immobilized by love", so the effect would cancel out.

I started Heart Gold just now, I used to love Gold the most as a kid (Yes even more than the originals, get at me bros). Picked a Cyndaquil as the starter.

Crystal was always my favorite. Best mix of Pokemon (without there being a shit ton) and two regions = HELLZ YEAH
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

Morty also gave me some trouble, until I devised a legit surefire strategy. Kicked his ass after that.

Anyway, the 3 gym leaders since then I've one-shotted. I think I just had to get over the initial shock of the gym leaders being somewhat challenging for once. Stepping my game up, yo.

WHICH GAME?

Yellow!

Or yeah, Crystal. Either one.

Typhlosion can easily sweep the entirety of the fucking game. Earthquake, Flamethrower, Thunderpunch, and Fire Blast is my favorite moveset ever.

Yeah I bought it used, and the guy who owned it before me had a level 87 Typhlosion and...that was really it. He had 2 HM Slaves and 3 other Pokemon in the 50s.

Wouldn't that get boring though? Playing through the game almost exclusively with your starter?

I used to do it with every Pokemon game I played. Swampert had ridiculously good type coverage if you set him up with Surf, Earthquake, and Ice Beam.

They finally nerfed the starters with Diamond, so that was the first game where I made a more balanced team, and it was probably more enjoyable in the long run. While we're on that subject, Gengar with Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Sludge Bomb, and Shadow Ball = Mega Pwnage. I WUVZ GENGAR

I agree. The revisiting of what you knew so well from the old games was just so...fulfilling.

My emulator legal Nintendo DS version of Heart Gold is bugging out badly, keeps crashing after I leave houses and black walls out of nowhere.. Just when I got my Typhlosion.  :-\

Nerf the starters = Create Infernape? o.O  I think that happened in BW.  I can't think of a single great use for any of those starters.

Also Swampert is the worst to play against.  I hate him so much.  Luckily my teams usually have at least one grass attack to deal with him.

Started a game of HeartGold yesterday.  Decided to make an Adventure Time team.

Cyndaquil (Jake)
Pidgey (Peppermint Butler)
Mareep (Tree Trunks)
Zubat (Marcelline)

Just grinding a bit before the Violet City gym right now.  I'm thinking Gyarados will be Lady Rainicorn, Espeon will be Princess Bubblegum, and Cinnamon Bun will be whoever my HM slave turns out to be.

What about my Jolteon?

Item: Choice Specs
Nature: Modest

IV's
HP: 7

SpD: 3
Spe: 29

EV's
SpA: 252
Spe: 252
