Sandile is the new Zubat, seriously.
So frustrating getting like 500 random battles wandering around in the Desert-place, too lazy to buy a repel.  :lol
Anyhow, managed to find a few "hidden" items, and a few trainers, so got some XP there.
Also came across N in the city, whom I battled, kicked his ass for sure.

My Dewott is level 27 now, but the others are around 22-24, I don't know exactly what caused the gap, but Dewott has so far been my "safety card", sorta the one I bring out when I need some ass-kicking.
Anyhow, might get my copy of Heart Gold tomorrow, and then it sorta brings a dilemma if I'm gonna stay with Black, or switch to HG and come back later sometime.
Nothing against Gen 5, but as I mentioned earlier, Gen 2 is just the one I've always had closest to my heart, so really excited about HG.

The only difference is that Sandile turns into Krookodile who will fuck all enemy pokemon sideways while Zubat evolves into Crobat who makes a decent scrawny lead pokemon.   :metal

Swoobat and Roggenrola are the new Zubat and Geodude.  And they're just as annoying too.

And you should stay with Black.  At least finish the main story before jumping into Heart Gold.

Truth.

Repels make the game fun, btw.

I can help you.

They really do need to make Pokemon games that cater to people who are about 20 years old. They'd make a killing on it.

But Geodude at least evolved into Golem, who would fuck things up big time.

I've set up my connection-settings for my DS now, but I don't quite get how Pokemon will work over the internet.
IR is DS to DS I assume, but then Wireless or Online?
I checked out Online which had something called Game Sync, where I came to a menu over my "sleeping" pokemons, no idea what that is.
Also, how do I find out my friendcode? :P

You need to go to the Pal Pak in your inventory. It's easy enough to google, I always forget how to do this myself!

By the way, I'm leveling on Audinos (instead of EV leveling) and have 5 level 41 Lillipups with Pickup that get me free rare candies.

You won't get your friend code until you sign up on Nintendo Wi-Fi for the first time.
If you never do.
No code for you!

Jimmy - Game Sync is for use with the Pokemon Dream World... basically one of your pokemon "sleeps" and then you can use that pokemon on the dream world website to grow berries, play games and find pokemon. Google Pokemon global link, that's the site you use for it.

You need to use the wi-fi for battles/trades/etc

Okay!
I'll see if I can get it fixed later, at least I set up my internet, and was able to agree on the user blabla-thingie that required internet, so it seems like it's working at least.

Also, I got my Heart Gold today and I'll most likely switch to that.
No offense to Black, but getting stuck on Elesa for 3-4 hours sorta killed my interest.
I'll go back to Black later ofc.  :P

You'll do it straight away probably.
After playing White, I found battles in HG so boring without the animation, it was awful.
Fantastic game though, if you loved Gold (as I did too), you'll fucking love HG

I have no idea how the EV/IV training thing works, but I guess I will learn when I get to the endgame-part. :P

Oh yeah, I started playing my Heartgold yesterday, excellent game so far!
Really liking that you can have a pokemon outside the ball to walk with you, one of those 'small' things that I just really dig.
I'm just about to go through Union Cave, which I'll probably get to later.

Team right now consists of Quilava, Pidgey (mostly to have a flyer later) and Bellsprout, a Pokemon I have never really used in a team in any of my previous games, but Union Cave would be hell without grass or water, so I figured I had to catch it.
I might replace it later on with a better/cooler grass-type though.

Update on my progress.

Defeated Whitney, I had to train a bit before I did her, because my party had such a bad setup against her Milktank.
Scyther, Quilava, Pidgeotto for example, and Bellsprout and Mareep being slightly lower in level, so you can see why Rollout would own me. ;)
But I got Scyther up to 22, it learned Wing Attack, and I proceeded to rape her with that.
Another thing that made the battle slightly harder was Attract and the Charm-thing, seeing as Scyther and Mareep were my only females.

Now I'm at Ecruteak City, on the way I have captured Sudowoodo, a Growlithe and I went and fixed my Eevee, but out of those, the latter is the only one I have strong plans for.
Growlithe was mostly to get an alternative for another Fire (if I ever need it), and Sudowoodo, because it's obvious for me to catch the "rares".
Next up will be training for the next gym, maybe watch out the burned tower, and all that.

Current party:

Quilava (level 22)
Scyther (level 22)
Pidgeotto (level 20)
Flaafy (level 20)
Bellsprout (level 20)
Eevee (level 5)

Does anyone here have a Ralts they can give me in white?

Alternatively, if anyone has two DSes and could help me get some of my 4th gen pokemon into pokemon white that would be super cool

So I'm at the Team Rocket-hideout in Mahogany Town now, didn't get the time to clear it all yesterday, but should do it today.
I feel somehow like I'm a bit further ahead (in terms of levels) at least a few on some chars, but I guess that's a good thing.
Party right now looks something like this:

Quilava (level 31)
Flaafy (level 29)
Scyther (level 28)
Kingler (level 28)
Pidgeotto (level 27)
Eevee (level 15)

Wanna get my Eevee evolved into Umbreon, but that's gonna take some time I guess.
Otherwise, fairly happy with my team so far, and it feels like it will be the team I'm gonna use through Elite 4, then maybe change it around when I leave for Kanto. :P
(Should do what Ash does, only go with my starter and then catch all new pokemons)

Very nice.
I bought a huge card box to re-org all my son's cards and build some awesome new decks.
I haven't actually played the games in a while though.

I should do another big legendary give away like I did with Rob.

After watching a Pokemon Emerald let's play on Youtube, I got the itch to play Pokemon again. So I FINALLY bought Heart Gold.

Here's the team I have in mind:

Meganium
Noctowl
Ampharos
Sandslash/Sudowoodo
Arcanine
Gyarados

I have some excellent accounts on HG and can furnish you with many legendaries if you'd rather not get them yourself. Finding people to trade with to get Raqwaza can be tricky.

the "Shiny" Gyarados?

No, I'm gonna put myself through the personal hell of leveling a Magikarp. :lol

4.5 hours into the game, just got to Goldenrod. I was very shocked to discover that the gym leaders in this game are not pushovers. The gym leaders in the original games were so easy.... Faulkner and Bugsy both gave me a little bit of trouble.

I'm scared to face Whitney's Miltank now.

I never completed HeartGold... I got to the dragon gym and just kind of stopped. It sucked because I was trying to level up a few eggs I just hatched and there are no good places to raise pokemon around there.  :-\

Jesus Christ, I just spent 20 minutes trying to kill that fucking Miltank. The attract move is bullshit, if I had remembered that I would have caught a female pokemon just for this gym. And Miltank used the "milk drink" move which restored half her HP at least 6 times. GEE, YOU THINK THAT'S ENOUGH?

I lost after almost beating her. I'm fucking furious right now. Whoever designed that fight is a fucking sadistic asshole. It never ends and the longer it lasts, the less chance you have of winning. It's so fucked.

So I found out that there's an NPC on the 5th floor of Goldenrod Poke-Mart that is willing to trade a Machop for a Drowzee. So that's exactly what I did. Caught a (female) Drowzee outside of Goldenrod, traded for a Machop, spent about 10 minutes leveling Machop from 12 to 18. Then took Machop into Goldenrod gym and 2-shot Whitney's Miltank.

What now, bitch?
