And what show on the road btw? Conan is not a stand up comedian and his type of comedy is really dependant on commenting on news and sketchs, I don't think he can really repeat the same show twice.

We don't necessarily know that, though. He has a certain style that a lot of people like, and he's spent 20 years writing comedy. It's not inconceivable that he can put together 90 minutes of standup and deliver it on the road. If he chooses to go that route, hopefully he'd be smart and start with a small handful of dates. Then after he polishes things up a bit, maybe go a little larger scale.

I believe Metty's referencing the overwhelming likelihood of Conan being back on TV by the fall. In that case the "nothing" you refer to would be time spent prepping for the gig.

Conan's new show will simply be called "Conan", he told us at Team Coco before he announced it on Twitter, it starts November 8th on TBS, I'm so excited

Well, it wasn't a real episode. It was only a few minutes long, so he crammed everything that goes into a talk show into that small time period. It was funny, though. You can watch it on his website.

Can't wait for the new show. Now that he's on basic cable I hope he's free to tell the kind of jokes he couldn't tell on the Tonight Show.

Conan always grew his beard when Late Night went on hiatus every now and then and during the writer's strike period of Late Night shows, it's his way of feeling relaxed and not committed as he said on 60 minutes, but I agree it has to go, I think it's actually contributing to his new Tom Green kind of edge we've seen on the internet the last few month and I hope won't continue to the new show.

I like the beard. It's a good look for him, and it reminds of the the writer's strike, which actually was an awesome time for his show. He was one of the few people to keep going and STILL be funny.
