Yeah the show was definitely funny.  So much self depreciating humor.  The opening bit was pretty hilarious too where he tries to get a job with Don Draper hahaha.  And when he gets whacked by the mob.

I also thought it was funny they named the band the basic cable band.  And the moving moon was pretty hilarious too.
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?

The opening sketches were hilarious, I love the Godfather shooting moments!
Conan doesn't look happy though, I dunno, too early to tell.

I'm starting to get over Conan.  For some reason he just looks awkward and unsettled during his monologues.  He's always gesturing and hopping around and doing silly voices and things and I just want to get to the jokes about current events.  It's like he's constantly stalling to make the segment last longer than it needs to be.  And when he does interviews it's just comedic comment and silly voice over and over.

I'll still watch the show for now but I'm just getting tired of his antics and mannerisms.  I'm sad to say this, of course, but I don't remember it being like this when he was on The Late Late Show.  It must have started on The Tonight Show.

I did love the joke about how he fought to NOT be on at midnight and now that we moved our clocks back he actually IS on at midnight.  That was great.

I absolutely love Jimmy Fallon, he's just so genuine, and The Roots... what more can you say about those guys?  Probably the best talk show segment around is when he does Battle of the Instant Bands.  His show is just very music-focused and I love that.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien.  The Late Late show is Craig Ferguson.

I don't know, I've been watching Conan for about 10 years, and I haven't noticed any big change. It may be annoying you more now, but that's how his monologues have always been (or at least for a very long time). It's always been more about his antics than the jokes themselves.

yeah, I don't notice a change in the way he's doing his show, going back to when he was on Late Night.

Also, I loved the skit that cleared up whether he would be able to use old characters :lol

Yeah Conan has not changed his style since Late Night.  That's why I like him.  He is true to himself.  He has not gotten any less funny.  And judging him off of one show is weak sauce.  Once he gets settled in and the show isn't some new thing for everyone to gawk at, he'll be rockin' and rollin' like he always does, because that's what he knows how to do.

I support CoCo!

Loved the "Don't jump" opening skit.  Love that Andy is back next to him on the couch and I dvr'd the second show and can't wait to hear Soundgarden.

I have just watched the first episode. Conan is back and he's as awesome as always. It's just too bad Europe has to follow the show online instead of sitting comfortably on the couch in front of the TV.

Did anyone else think soundgarden was pretty bad?  Cornell was singing in all falsetto, it sounded pretty awful.

They were kind of sloppy, which isn't really that uncommon with them. The vocals were par for the course, though. Black Rain was recorded in the early '90s (aside from a few things Cornell re-recorded for the release this year), and Cornell can't hit those notes the way he could when he was younger.

That's not to say he's no longer a great singer, because he is. His voice is iconic. He just can't scream those high notes out at the top of his lungs anymore, and with the way he sings (not to mention his years of smoking), he was never going to maintain that range.

He didn't mention reasons publicly when he declined the offer, but that is probably part of it.
