What, they didn't play Jacob's Ladder at your show? That was one of the highlights of the shows I saw!

It's possible they'll pull out some of the songs he mentioned for the next leg. I'm sure the set wasn't entirely set in stone when he gave that interview

I saw something I've never seen at a Rush show before.  Durring Far Cry, Alex's sound went out and they played the rest of the song without him.  When they came back on for the La Villa encore, he still had no sound.  Alex being the funny guy tried to play along while they were fixing the problem but it took at least 4 or 5 minutes to get it fixed and it affected him durring the 2 encore song.

HE WAS PISSED, and kept staring at his tech man and yelling and pointing fingers throughout the encore.  Very bizzare.

Otherwise that band was great and Alex killed all his solo's!!  I hope them going back into the studio after this tour translates well on the new CD.

Yeah, Far Cry was a disaster. You could tell everyone was just going "wtf" when Alex's guitar cut out. The imrpv jam before La Villa was hillarious, and I don't think I've rocked out so hard at a concert as I did when they played La Villa, Marathon, and YYZ.  :metal

I was in loge 11. I just love Marathon live and I thought BU2B was great live.  I was soooooo happy to see Presto live and I loved the extra 4 bars before the solo.  Alex just tore it up.  I just love his soloing.

Here is Alex's rant on why his guitar cut out.  Damn funny.  Watch him durring this song lose his mind on his tech at the side of the stage.

The guy next to me brought his niece (or nephew... I couldn't tell, its hard to tell nowadays  :lol) to see Rush for the first time. She obviously didn't know any of the songs, but she seemed to enjoy it. However, they booked it before the encore so they missed the best part. ;)

Also I gotta say it again, I think this is one of the most boring drum solos in Rush's career. I know its been a live staple since... forever, but I felt like most of the audience wasn't really getting into this year's solo either.

Yea, it wasn't as bombastic as other solos.  People want flash in their drum solos

Don't get my wrong PLM. It was very good, just not as bombastic as other solos.

BTW, best line of the night.  Alex, after his guitar came back on but was still a little twangy,

"'What the hell is this? What am I in Primus"?  Just too funny.

Haha, that was great.  And if my memory serves me correctly, the way he bent over and played those screechy guitar notes was the same pose the Primus guitar player used to strike.  Priceless.

Last time I saw Rush was in MD.  The Capital Center in Landover, where the Washington Capitals play.  I think it's been renamed for some corporation (since all sports venues are nowadays) but I don't remember what.  It'll always be the Cap Center to me.

Counterparts tour.  Awesome, of course.

So apparently, there's a fraternity on campus that's taking part in this event that they conveniently call "RUSH." (I think it's an acronym for something but I'm not sure). Anyway, I was unaware that it was an extra-curricular thing, so when I saw a guy today wearing a "RUSH" t-shirt I walked up to him and was all like "Hey man, nice shirt! I love Rush! What's your favorite album?" He looked at me funny and said "Who the hell is Rush?" Then he proceeded to explain it was a fraternity thing and I felt silly.

Then only a few hours later I forgot and said the same thing to a different guy wearing a RUSH shirt. I remembered what it was immediately after talking to him. I felt like a douche.

RUSHing is the process fraternities use to get as many pledges as possible in a short amount of time. It happens around this time every year, and every fraternity/sorority out there.

I did the same thing my freshman year :lol
