Must ... resist ... temptation.

Nugget.

Very interesting. Sounds incredibly dark and intense, which is refreshing I guess.  ;D

Definitely better then the Walmart samples, but I'm gonna have to hear the whole songs to make any real judgement calls.

Rush is my favorite band and I've been really looking forward to CA but the samples don't do much for me. The Wreckers and The Garden sound like they'll be my favorites. I really hope these clips are bad representations of the album. I didn't really care for the samples for A Dramatic Turn of Events at first but I ended up loving it, so I hope its the same in this case.

I'm not listening to the samples, but your story reminds me of Octavarium, I was very weary of the clips, but then I loved the album. Of course over time it ended up not aging well and became one of my least favorite DT albums. I hope you get the former without the latter. :lol

The fan package supposedly has shipped.

If it gets here by Friday, I won't have to pick up another copy at the store Friday night.

Knowing my luck recently, I don't expect that will happen.

Hmmm, well I haven't received any emails from BurningShed about my Fan Pack shipping yet. I'd love it if it got here before next Saturday!

I am not gonna listen to these new 30-second samples, but there seems to be a lot of bickering about them at the Rush forum.

And based on some of the comments, I will reiterate my biggest fear about this album: Geddy's vocals.  His voice isn't nearly what it used to be, and I worry that even good vocal melodies will have too much of that double-tracked yodeling that he has resorted to at times in recent years.  I hope I am wrong, but his voice is not gonna magically get younger or better again.  Time will tell...

How are most of you purchasing CA.  Are you going to order it online or get it from a store?  I plan on going to HMV as soon as they open.

Well, at this point I pretty much just use Itunes, so I've already pre-ordered it there, and it will download automatically the moment that it is available.

Pre-Ordered the Classic Rock Fan Pack from Burning Shed over a month ago. No shipment confirmation email yet, though, so I'm hoping I get one soon...

Without giving it away, he and Alex have the same least favorite Rush song...

I actually like Tai Shan (I could easily name 20-30 Rush songs I like less or not at all), but I wouldn't want them to play it.

I don't know the exact number, but out of the 130+ Rush songs, there's only 3 that I don't like. (Tai Shan, Dog Years and Super Conductor)

All others I can enjoy on some level, and about 90% of them I really do love.

I've never seen a good song take so much heat like Dog Years for the lyrics.

And yeah, Tai Shan is low on my list too.
