Seriously, Gadough, I was just about to point that out. You win this round.

I can't take credit since I didn't notice it myself. :p

Actually the clock on the cover is wrong since the hour hand should be just over a sixth of the way towards 10:00 and it's still at 9:00.

Yeah. I'll probably use this cover art on my iTunes library. I just like it more.

Hire me. I'm talentless but malleable.

It's okay Nick, you can say it.  It should be exactly 1/5 of the way towards 10:00.

Given that there are 12 songs and we already know that Headlong Flight is 7 plus minutes, it makes you wonder how many other songs will stretch out enough to eclipse the 6-minute mark.  I'd love to see them a song that is mostly instrumental - like Jacob's Ladder or PT's .3 - but with a little bit of vocals that have lyrics that relate to the overall theme of the album.

Ah, that explains it.  No, I didn't know.  But to be fair, 1/5 is just a little more than 1/6.

That's the best 30 seconds of Rush music I've heard in a long time- though the sample of Far Cry got me all excited before it all went so wrong. I'm half hoping for an instrumental album...

Sounds like this new album will be pretty heavy. If it is, I'm all over it.

What does it mean by "single will be on rock radio april 19th?"

Also, cover art looks fucking awesome.

I was actually just gonna post this after looking at the album cover again.

It means that Headlong Flight, the first single, will be on rock radio that day (with the radio edit becoming available on iTunes, etc. a few days after). We knew that already though.

Ah, I thought they meant something more specific than general broadcast rock radio.

I think today was just the day a snippet of the single was supposed to be revealed, and it was, along with the album track list! I think we can expect the single next week and perhaps (and hopefully) the track times.

RIAB points out that this version of BU2B is about a minute longer than the prerelease single. I've got my fingers crossed for a rerecording.

Also, there's a rumor that Rush will be touring with an orchestra this time around. If so, I just came. If not, I just came thinking about the prospect regardless of its truthfulness.

Hmm, I don't think the clock is wrong.  I mean, technically it is from our concept of time.  But if you look at the teaser video the minute and hour hands move at a weird pace -- not the typical movement we are used.  At first glance it looks wrong, but I think the band might intentionally have the hands laid out the way they are now.  I guess we'll see when the album is released and we can check out the lyrics and album art.

For the record, the source is the Best Buy listing of the album, so more than likely legit.

Please no orchestra.

Amen.  It has been done to death, and Rush doesn't need to do that to keep the fans coming in.  But I don't see them doing it, anyway.  They are perfectionists about every little thing about the show, and I can't see them wanting to worry about someone in the orchestra causing one of their infamous train wrecks on a nightly basis.  Besides, it would cost a fortune to travel with an orchestra.

Side 1 - 18:21
1. Caravan(5:40)
2. BU2B(5:10)
3. Clockwork Angels(7:31)

Side 2 - 14:58
4. The Anarchist(6:52)
5. Carnies(4:52)
6. Halo Effect(3:14)

Side 3 - 18:53
7. Seven Cities Of Gold(6:32)
8. The Wreckers(5:01)
9. Headlong Flight(7:20)

Side 4 - 13:52
10. BU2B2(1:28)
11. Wish Them Well(5:25)
12. The Garden(6:59)

Edit: added it up to 66:04

Awsome. Five songs over 6 minutes long! This is gonna be EPIC. Nice to see BU2B2 is a short song (and, IIRC, the shortest Rush track ever!). I've edited the above to reflect what I think will be the vinyl lay-out...

As for touring with an orchestra, wasn't there a credit for string orchestrations for this album posted somewhere in one of the recent news stories? if that's the case, it looks like that rumor could be true - if there are strings on this album, they could use a string section/orchestra. Although I would only accept this if they play the WHOLE ALBUM IN ORDER.

Also, this lends credence to the performance of Signals, because having strings on stage would mean "Losing It" could be played with a proper violin solo!

And as for the cover... I think I'll use the single cover with "Clockwork Angels" written in as my iTunes cover. The red one is a bit...meh.

Hard not to get excited when some of the facts are rolling in.

Heard the clip once, but to be honest I forget exactly what it sounded like.

I wish Hugh Syme wasn't so hit and miss with his digital artwork.

Precisely. I wonder if hearing fan outcry against the new red-clouds cover will convince Huge/the band to switch back to the more colorful and steampunk-y looking album art?
