I think Rush has 1 album left. I doubt we'll get anymore than that at the rate they release albums. But luckily they tour heavily, and I wouldn't mind it if they kept touring but stopped making albums, I don't think their last few albums have been that great.

I'd rather they focus more on making albums and less on touring, but to be fair, I may have a bit of a bias seeing as they inexplicably seem to act like Atlantic Canada doesn't exist. Over the last few tours it has gotten pretty irritating. They can't add one date for this entire region, but two nights in such hot spots as Morrison, Colorado? Of course!

I want to be able to see them live without having to drive 16 hours, and without having to worry about travel and hotel costs.

I agree that they should visit Atlantic Canada, but I have to point something out about Morrison Colorado, and you'll have to take my word for this, as I live in CO.

Morrison itself isn't a "hot spot", but the reason they play there is because of Red Rocks. That is an amazing place to play at, and it isn't much of a drive from Denver to see. It's a very popular venue.

I would imagine it'd be easier to keep releasing studio albums and not touring.

For a band of Rush's resources they can do whatever the fuck they want. Touring brings home the bacon, and so we can only hope they start getting a lot more drive for new music in their golden years or else I fear we won't see many more albums.

I'd LOVE for this to happen, and while Geddy and Alex seem more driven to tour than Neil does, I can see them resorting to writing and recording every couple years when they can't tour any more (especially now that Neil is a father again).

It could be that the Clockwork Angels Tour would be their last extensive tour, or perhaps the one for the album after that (which, at the current rate, would likely be released anytime between 2014 and 2017), so if all they do after that is recording studio albums, I'd be happy with that.

I'd rather see them do that than what Yes did in the last decade - they only released one album (Magnification) and then toured off-and-on over the next decade before regrouping to record a new album.

I don't hope for Rush to stop touring any time soon, but when they do I just hope that they still do put out an album every now and again.

Probably, but Rush seems to be one of those bands where the live show is main thing now, not albums.

I'm eager to see how Clockwork Angels turns out, cos it'll give me a better idea on if I would rather see them tour or make albums.

Looks like Clockwork Angels will be released on MAY 23...or thereabouts, probably the 22nd or the 29th, so about 81/88 days from now!

So this is what the guy from the David Barrett Trio who worked with Alex on a EP said online about that double neck guitar post I added here.

"Big Al needs the Gibson double neck back for summer rehearsals and the upcoming Rush tour in September, anyone else want to give me one, maybe Gibson? ... kicker is he's using it for a new Rush song, not Xanadu!"

All I can say is awesome.

I still have to buy that David Barrett Trio EP. Thanks for reminding me.

I watched Rush from Montreal in 1983 and 1984 over the weekend and the loudest reaction during both of those concerts were for the sporatic use of the lasers. I forget how much of a novelty they were back then.

My entire childhood growing up I heard my uncle talk about the Mythic Rush Lasers and I was so excited to finally see them on Time Machine, but since they played an open/outdoor amphitheater during a bright summer night, they didn't have any lasers at all and I was pretty disappointed. I felt like I was missing out on something pivotal.

I really hope they bring them back for the clockwork tour.

Gadough: That seems to be a big possibility.

So Losing It came on a full library shuffle earlier, I can't believe how awesome of a song it is and how I've pretty much skipped over it for years. I'm thinking I might have to revisit Signals soon.

Losing it is one of my top 5 Rush songs and since Signals was one of the last albums I bought, It took me forever to discovery it. But the day I did was really special.

So I haven't been keeping up with this thread, are we definitely getting an epic on this album or not?

From what I've read is that there is a 5 song suite like 2112.

Caravan and BU2B are part of it with one long song in the range of 9 minutes.

Yeah, I'm pumped.

I haven't heard about any 5-song suite. Where'd you get that information?

I do know that the title track is supposed to be the album's epic centerpiece.
