General on-sale for Cleveland was a bust for me this morning, so I'm sticking with my tickets that are 4th row, 2nd section on the ice. I suspect overall I'll be about 20 rows deep, slightly to Ged's side.

Honestly, I usually stop listening after LttA :P

You really should take the time to listen to Cold Fire. Great song.
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

I'm calm now and grateful that I have tickets. But next time, I'm getting pre-sale.

Yeah, the chorus is awesome.  And I love Alex's subtle acoustic flourishes throughout the song.  Plus, I love how the acoustic strumming during the chorus makes it sound that much fuller.  And let us not forget one of the greatest modern Rush moments:

"If the future's looking dark
We're the ones who have to shine
If there's no one in control
We're the ones who draw the line
Though we live in trying times
We're the ones who have to try
Though we know that time has wings
We're the ones who have to fly..."

So awesome. :hefdaddy :hefdaddy
One of my favorite of Neil's lyrics as well.  Actually, it was a huge inspiration in high school for me to begin writing my own poetry.

It doesn't help if you get tickets during the pre-sale either. Only certain sections (very few of them good) are made available.

I got tickets earlier this month and I still feel the need to take a shower when I think about it.

Took me 5 hours of throwing tickets back to get ones I would be even remotely happy with to say nothing of the finacial extraction.

"We will pay the price, but we will not count the cost..."

Is it just me, or does The Main Monkey Business sound a bit like Porcupine Tree?

I've always thought that a few riffs had Tool like qualities to it.

I'm starting International Rush Day a little early by experiencing again the first Rush show I ever saw (March 31,1986) then I'll probably play Cygnus X-1 at some point during the lunar eclipse just because and maybe I'll do something else to mark the day later tomorrow.

Alright, if anyone can help me here, it would be much appreciated.

I'm sure, many years ago, I saw a picture of either Geddy Lee or the whole of Rush wearing a santa hat.  Does anybody know if I'm going mental, or does such a picture exist?  And if it does, could somebody please post it here or point me in the right direction?  If it doesn't, just tell me I'm mental and I'll go away happy.

Thanks!

My friend did not consult me when he bought 3 tickets Sunday night. He just told me that he was really drunk and just bought them. It's cool though, seeing them on March 30 woohoo. It will be my 4th time, which will be a record among all the bands I have seen thus far.

It'll be my third time, and a record for me as well, with Coheed and Porcupine Tree just behind with two shows each.

I love that in the 2000's, Rush has filmed every tour.

I think someone did a photoshop somewhere along the line if I recall correctly.

You aren't the only one.

One of these days, I will have a Rush live in the new millenium DVD marathon.

Thanks for that... I can't find anything anywhere.  I'm sure I saw a picture in Kerrang! Or maybe Metal Hammer, but that would have probably been over 20 years ago.  I just wanted to make an appropriate Christmas card to put the Rush tickets (well, mockups, they haven't actually arrived yet) in to give to my wife in the morning.

Sweet picture, and very cool that you have a blanket made from a photo you took.  I'm not sure how I'd feel about having my name on my blanket like that, but if that's your thing, then party on!
