And now, we pray.

My sister is in, I'm willing to make it work...

All that needs to happen is my friend needs to agree to my Rush in Cleveland/Pittsburgh the next day trip and I will be at a Rush DVD shoot.

Any other time this wouldn't be a question, but he *just* settled on a house which he moves into in January.

I mentioned this on facebook, but which seats are you planning on getting? I'd go too if I can afford it

Since front section is only $95 I'll probably do that, might as well considering the distance I'd be traveling.

Holy shit the front section is only 95? Damn that's a good price.

I have to see how many tickets I end up getting, right now I have two for my sister and I, but I might get more on Saturday. The problem is I plan on staying with a friend in Pittsburgh the Saturday after the show and hanging out with him, but anything is possible, just gotta see how things play out.

So I listened to all of Hold Your Fire for the first time in a while today.  Man, the album drops off after "Time Stand Still," doesn't get back up till "Lock and Key," and then takes a nosedive into horribleness after "Turn the Page."  No wonder I don't listen to it that much.

This post makes me sad.  "Prime Mover" and "Open Secrets" are both magnificent.  However, the sound of it can be a difficult hill to climb, as it is so bright and tinny, but without the fat bottom end that Power Windows had.

I love Prime Mover, personally

Prime Mover's all right, but not as good as Force Ten/Time Stand Still, and Open Secrets wasn't my cup of tea, whatever it is.

I've also decided I'm listening to Rush albums that don't get much recognition today.  Listening to Roll the Bones right now.  Pretty good except for "Face Up."

The album? I've always had a soft spot for it due to nostalgic reasons. I also never understood why everyone hates Neurotica, I love the opening to that song.

From news.2112.net -
Quote
"CLOCKWORK ANGELS" UPDATE - GEDDY LEE: 'END OF 2011'
The December issue of Classic Rock magazine includes an interview with Geddy Lee given in November when Rush received the Living Legends award. Geddy was asked about the status of the upcoming album Clockwork Angels:
"It's a long way from finished. About half of it is written, hopefully it'll be done by the end of 2011." - Geddy Lee, Classic Rock, December 2010

END OF 2011?!?!?! NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

So we have to wait nearly a WHOLE YEAR until we get to hear this new album?!... *cue the cries of "It better be worth the wait"...*

I'd much rather them scrap the second leg of the tour and just finish the album.

A week ago I would have said this.  Now that I have my ticket, I'd rather they didn't unless they gave me a full refund including service charges.

Well, of course they won't actually cancel the tour. I just mean I would have preferred them to go into the studio, finish the album, and THEN tour.

Sadly I will not be attending any shows this tour, unless the setlist has something I REALLY want to hear... like Cygnus X-1 or Xanadu or something like that. Otherwise, its too far and I just can't afford to go. :(

Geddy saying it will hopefully be done by the end of 2011 means it probably won't be released until, at the earliest, probably the spring of 2012, so this is gonna be quite a wait, it looks like.  That's a bummer and definitely disappointing.  Them doing a second leg this year instead of finishing the album... :tdwn :tdwn

Hey now, I talk about it plenty.  Heck, it is pretty high on my favorite Rush songs list (top 25 or 30, I think).

So, yeah, it is an amazing song. :)

Yeah, the chorus is awesome.  And I love Alex's subtle acoustic flourishes throughout the song.  Plus, I love how the acoustic strumming during the chorus makes it sound that much fuller.  And let us not forget one of the greatest modern Rush moments:

"If the future's looking dark
We're the ones who have to shine
If there's no one in control
We're the ones who draw the line
Though we live in trying times
We're the ones who have to try
Though we know that time has wings
We're the ones who have to fly..."

So awesome. :hefdaddy :hefdaddy
