Nobody's Hero is pretty good

It is, although I don't enjoy it as much as I used to.
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

Nobody's Hero is one of my favorites on the album.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Or Power Windows, for that matter

I swear... I still get tears in my eyes when I recall seeing Marathon over the summer. Best moment of my life without a doubt

Power Windows is awesome but Grace Under Pressure is still the best synth album.

Marathon is much more emotional live whicch gives it a slight edge for me.

Grace Under Pressure is still the best synth album.
I have to agree with this part. Honestly, out of the four synth albums, it's the only one that has really clicked with me.

I enjoy P/G and PW a lot, but Signals/HYF don't do anything for me.

P/G and PW are definitely the best albums... the other two have their moments but overall aren't very strong albums imo.

The four synth albums?  Signals through Hold Your Fire, I presume?  Obviously they started using synths much earlier than that, and continued after, but I guess these four are the most synth-based.

Synth ranking:

Power Windows

*sizable gap*

Signals
Hold Your Fire

Grace Under Pressure

Interestingly enough, Signals is my second favorite album overall, as well.

Which should tell you a bit about how much I love Power Windows :P

I keep forgetting Losing It is on Signals... that makes the album a much stronger album then.

Signals is probably on par with GUP. Signals has better songs but I think GUP has a better "album feel".

There is not a single song on Signals that matches up with Between the Wheels, Afterimage, etc.

Subdivisions
Subdivisions is great and all, but I'd honestly put every song on P/G over Subdivisions.

Subdivisions, Losing It, and The Analog Kid are better than everything on P/G.

But then you have Chemistry and Countdown... yuck.

While there are synths on other albums, those are the four albums where the synths have such a prominent role throughout.

Power Windows and Hold Your Fire are my #1 and #2.
Yeah, I say screw all the synth haters. The 80s were awesome for Rush!

Power Windows is amazing. Middletown Dreams is one of my favourite songs on this album, and it's a shame that it gets overlooked so often. Mystic Rhythms and Marathon are great as well, and Territories probably contain my favourite lyrics by Neil.
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"
