Your Favorite Studio Album By Every Band You Like!
« on: September 07, 2010, 09:09:26 PM »
Okay, so we've had top 5's and rankings and so on and so forth, but here let's list our favorite album by each band/artist we like! For the sake of space, please do NOT include pictures of album covers. I know it looks cool when it's a top 5, but it might get unruly in here if someone posts a reply with 40 album covers in it. Stick to typed lists please! :tup

And for the indecisive, you can list one or two alternatives from your favorite bands... I'm sure I will! ;)

Also, your lists don't have to be in any particular order - if you want to do Top to Bottom, sure... or chronological... or alphabetical... or by genre... whatever you want! It's your list! And I ask that you please use the BAND/ARTISTS - ALBUM format so we can all easily read through everyone's lists. And as the subject says, this is for Studio Albums! No live or compilations, or EPs/singles/etc. etc., however, you can include special/deluxe/limited editions of studio albums, if you like!

Rush - A Farewell To Kings or Hemispheres
Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet (LP Version/Tracklisting which includes the Nil Recurring tracks)
Transatlantic - Bridge Across Forever (Special Edition)
Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence
Liquid Tension Experiment - Liquid Tension Experiment (1)
Jordan Rudess - The Road Home
OSI - Office Of Strategic Influence (Special Edition)
Spock's Beard - Snow
Neal Morse - ? or One (Special Edition)
The Flower Kings - Unfold The Future or Paradox Hotel
Roine Stolt - The Flower King
Tomas Bodin - I AM
Karmakanic - Who's The Boss In The Factory
The Tangent - A Place In The Queue (Special Edition)
Marillion - Marbles (2-Disc Edition, of course)
IQ - Dark Matter
Genesis - Selling England By The Pound or Wind & Wuthering
Yes - Close To The Edge or Relayer
King Crimson - Red
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
Emerson Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
The Beatles - Abbey Road or The Beatles
The Who - Who's Next
Led Zeppelin - Houses Of The Holy
Kansas - Leftoverture or Song For America
Queen - A Night At The Opera
Ayreon - The Human Equation
The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute
Muse - The Resistance or Black Holes And Revelations
Tiles - Window Dressing
Frost* - Milliontown
Kino - Picture

You're asking for the moon here, there's no way I could pick a favorite Björk or Kaki King album.

Exactly. Perhaps if I should limit myself to my Top 20 bands or something.

I'll think about this during the next hours to see if I can do this.

You're asking for the moon here, there's no way I could pick a favorite Kaki King album.

Dreaming of Revenge is great but my favorite will always be "Legs To Make Us Longer" although "Everybody Loves You" Has Joi on it which is my favorite KK song.

This is gonna be a wall of text thread.

Tell me about it. :lol

I couldn't even begin to do this.  I literally like hundreds of bands/artists, so doing this would be a massive undertaking of mammoth proportions. :lol :lol

You would just have to use more exclusive criteria, such as only using bands that you own their entire discographies.  On vinyl, cd, 8-track, tape, and digitally.

Then if that's still too much, use only bands whose album and song titles and track orders you have memorized, when those albums came out (either by just year or year/month or even by specific date), and who played what on each album.
