Purchasing and enjoying The Valley does not make you a "bandwagon jumper." Quite the contrary. It means you know what the fuck is up.
;D

I'll probably dig through the rest of their discography after I've let The Valley sink in, along with the ocean of other new music I've downloaded recently  :o

That ocean of yours can wait its turn. Room Noises should be your top priority.
But I ha--

Okay

My tickets arrived yesterday. :caffeine:

Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

....Well, damn, I'm not sure now that I think about it. Part of me wants to say Ten Cent Blues. The other part of me wants to say I Could Be There For You. The third part of me is telling the other two to shut the hell up because Taking Control is clearly superior.

Tie between Ten Cent Blues, Invasion, Many Funerals, Come Clean, and Taking Control.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd say Taking Control.

Upon reading that, I decided that Taking Control is not in the running for best song on the album.  I have a reputation to uphold, you know.

Don't tell anyone Gadough but Taking Control is still definitely tied with those other songs, but we can't have us partially agreeing on something, can we?

It's between Tent Cent Blues and Combinations...
You know it.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Just picked up The Valley yesterday, I like it a lot. I don't think it's quite as good as Room Noises, but a few more listens could change that.

On a mildly related note, Chauntelle's husband, Todd D'agostino, who makes their guitars, is a massive Porcupine Tree fan and apparently has made guitars for both SW and Mikael Akerfeldt :metal :metal

Really?  Man I wore my Coheed shirt to the show and there was a brief conversation about them because they used to be on Equal Vision as well.  I could've talked extensively about Porcupine Tree instead!

I am a crazed Luthier who cares for nothing but Wood, Tone, Detail, New York style pizza, and Porcupine Tree!

He mentions PT but not Chauntelle, my kinda guy :lol

Just listened to The Valley again. I like it more with each listen. Still nothing that absolutely floors me, but it's a really solid pop album that will probably make my best of 2011 list.

I'll check out Room Noises and Combinations soon or later.

You're not absolutely floored by Mr. Moon, Better Love, Sad, The Valley, Ambulance, Please, I Wish, Watch it Die, or Oxygen Mask?
